A few months ago I started picking up some lesser known, maybe obscure scores (obscure to me at least). Among these little gems are: Three Wishes-Cynthia Millar The Straight Story - Angelo Badalamenti Sister Mary Explains It All - Philippe Sarde Three Seasons - Richard Horowitz Wings of the Dove - Edward Shearmur The Sweet Hereafter - Mychael Danna Lady Caroline Lamb - Richard Rodney Bennett A Price Above Rubies - Lesley Barber Last of the Dogmen - David Arnold Mansfield Park - Lesley Barber Stealing Time - Joey Newman The Ring - Michel LeGrand Bride of the Wind - Stephen Endelman Thousand Pieces of Gold - Gary Malkin Into the Arms of Strangers - Lee Holdridge Some of composers were known to me - Lee Holdridge, Philippe Sarde, R. R. Bennett, David Arnold, Michel LeGrand, Mychael Danna, Angelo Badalamenti. The others - not too familiar. I picked up many for extremely reasonable prices on eBay, Amazon and in a few out of the way record stores. I am not crazy about all of them but some are amazing. As I listen to them more frequently, they grow on me. I am trying to give some composers unknown to me chance and I don't regret it. Share your stories of those little gems that you happened upon and wish to recommend. Would love to hear them.

I don't think David Shire's THE BIG BUS gets enough love.
