It's great that this is now available on CD. I hope SAE or Amazon begins to carry it. STILETTO (1969) is not a very well known film, never having had a DVD release. Back in the day, it was first made available on VHS by Magnetic Video and later was on the Embassy label. The film sports an early appearance by Roy Scheider, and is the film debut of Raul Julia, in a bit part.

Composer and songwriter Sid Ramin is best known as being part of the Oscar-winning team (along with Saul Chaplin, Johnny Green, and Irwin Kostal) that supervised and orchestrated the music for WEST SIDE STORY.

The score goes from Mancini-ish pop:

. . . to quiet suspense:

. . . to crime jazz:

This LP has been in every soundtrack bin I've ever browsed through since the beginning of time. If the LP cover had looked anything like the poster, I'd have snagged it ages ago. What a boring cover.

OK, so for YEARS I've had this AMAZING track on an Easy Project compilation, and had no idea that it was from the soundtrack. This version BLOWS AWAY anything that you will hear on the LP:
