In case you haven't heard this hoo-hah Jim, Tottenham, for many years, have had a large Jewish fanbase. Rival fans used to taunt them with songs featuring the word Yidd (short for Yiddish).
More recently, Tottenham fans have taken ownership of the word (much like many black men who use the N word about themselves to own it) chanting things like Yidd Army during games.
UK Politicians and Police have gotten involved and threatened to arrest ANYONE in the ground who shouts the word (I think there was an arrest on Sunday for such an act).

i think tott fans have been chanting Yid army since the late 70s, maybe before that.
But its just a nonsense that the handwringers bring it up like it started last week.

yes hammers played a euro tie behind closed doors after fan trouble in the 80s i think.Castillo or someone. I think there were 258 people there, journos etc. The way we have been playing there are some, of course, who would argue that we should be playing a lot more of our games behind closed doors!!

normally we dont lump it forward. kick and hope - without Carroll we dont have any system like that. Mostly we just well...lose the ball and press the opposition. Thats it. Forget goals. Except from corners. or the odd spurious handball penalty. If Opposition score then another 0 0 gameplan goes out the window!!

mmmm. Predicting football isnt sensible - especially on a board where your posts are there for ridicule five mins after the match is over!!
That said, the er Lions will probably win or do enough to get through - even though they are more akin to maybe polecats or leopards. Sort of second division lions. Bar an own goal disaster or a Hart moment of madness, they should have enough regardless of the line- up.
But i for one will not be getting too enthusiastic about any chances in the tournament proper. We are knock out stage fodder. Should be on our shirts.
