Ozil? I know him! He was on the side that demolished England in the 2010 World Cup. Thanks for the reminder.

The making fun of physical appearances is sooooo juvenile, boys.

Yes, jim's right, pack that up er ...you lot.

Marvel at his football brilliance - even if he is totally wasted at Arsenal.

Funniest for me is that he has ' come to Arsenal to win cups.'

...well, only if hes good at cards on the team bus.

Killjoys!..wink

I've read an interesting stat (It's all about stats these days, ain't it?) that Ozil had the most assists of any player in Europe the past couple seasons, which seems to have got Gooners in a lather.

Most of those assists were converted by Ronaldo. They haven't signed Ronaldo as well, have they???

no. But they have giroud instead. And they still have bendtner, who turns up like a bad penny because nobody will take him.And if giroud is injured, they can turn to mr toe poke himself, Walcott.

Now they will create lots of chances and loads will go begging.
Bit like how Cantona used to get so fed up watching Andy Cole spunk chance after chance that he created.

Joachim Low thinks highly of Ozil and is baffled by the move out of Real Madrid:

i wished i had used 'incomprehensible.' It covers me and joachim's feelings perfectly.
Its a good word, and I want to use it more in conversation.

apparently we are going to win the world cup in the heat of qatar in 2022.
Its obvious really. We are clearly on the brink of a major tournament and we are perfectly suited to that heat.

Sell the family jewels, put that bet on now!! haha.

So...a bit late to the game here, but Bale's sale to Real has certainly provided money in the pocket for my beloved Spurs.

I wonder if Nayim is still available? wink

2022: World Cup Win

Well, it highlights the problems, altho dont seem many solutions on offer.

How the hell you stop 20 years of nervous-rabbit football the moment good class players put on a 3 lions shirt i dont know.
So many of them hide once they get out there because they dont want to be noticed or make a mistake, for fear of being slaughtered. We are a nation of moaners and our media perpetuate the hunt for villains, when they should be educating and changing the attitude of the masses. And the players.

Not being English I don't really care of course, but disgraceful headlines in rags like this are a prime example of what you are talking about Bill (and this isn't even the worst!).

I like how there must always be "an inquest" after the latest English defeat in a tournament. Why bother? It's not like they'll "right the ship" and turn things around.

I'd love to see both Irelands get something out of their games against Sweden and Portugal. However, it's hard enough to negotiate TV time to watch my own country play football, let alone other teams. Even though I have more affection for Robbie Keane than I have for any current England player.

Yes, but all anyone else talks about is England. I've tried talking about Serie A, La Liga, and the Bundesliga but you people get all parochial and teary eyed over 1966.

Serie what? Bundes la liga? Sorry, that's like the premiership - no such place!! ha ha.

66 was a different time, Jim. Proper heroes, who were held in almost universal genuine affection.

Unlike now, where, when you go through the team, you hate more of them than you actually dont mind!

England v who did you say? Hope they dont even qualify. I can relax and enjoy tournaments when theyre not in it.
