"But boy did Mourinho appear cranky right after the match. I find it hard to grasp how he could claim that "the best side lost"
-------------------------------
He needs to work on some new material.
He trotted that line out when Liverpool dumped him out of the Champions League and he bleated on and on about the 'ghost goal' that Luis Garcia scored on the night.
What he conveniently ignored was if the play had been pulled up, he would have had his goalie sent off and a penalty given against his side (as Baros was taken out by Cech before the scramble happened).
He was fun to start with but his novelty has long worn off with me.
He's more like The Special Needs One now!

you write that with a bit of glee, Jim!!!!

Im sick of football today. I despise them and losing to them has ruined my day.
Bastard Stoke. Animals. Thugs. And they've got that plank Hughes as manager.
We will have the last laugh.

Special Needs One? Kev, I may write that down and use it more in conversation.

By the way, can you be friends tomorrow???? We dont want any falling out!! ha ha.

Not at all, Bill. I actually like West Ham--when I'm not confusing them with Aston Villa, that is. In fact, they're by far the only London team I remotely cheer for. I try and write the weekly recaps with total neutrality as a way of chronicling the season. smile Because of those in this thread, I find myself pulling for everyone's teams!

I cannot fully describe my rather irrational despising of Stoke.
I would even suffer losing to London rivals if we could beat them each year until they get relegated.
They have mugged us in so many matches over recent years with dodgy tactics and fouls and referees over indulging their wrestling and NFL tackling which passes as football.
Scummy team, scummy tactics, scummy manager and scummy players.

I wish we could have played them with Andy Carroll in the line-up - that would have played them at their own game! I love seeing bullies punished!

Sturridge (and Liverpool) simply cannot be stopped! I would pay real money for a video of Kev and Thomas "Body Popping" in unison with some lame-ass Liverpool FC song droned on relentlessly.

One niiiiiiil, to the Liverpool, one niiiiiil to the Liverpool (repeat until bored or until you're hit with a copyright claim by Tony Adams).

As for Leeds, we could easily have got something out of that game - just a scrappy goal for them and what seemed to be a lack of confidence in front of goal for us. Rudi had a shot bounce off the top of the bar from over 30 yards in the last couple of minutes, and Joey Barton was booed every time he got the ball. Had a decent game, though.

Apart from the result, the biggest disappointment was the lack of away supporters - there seemed to be about ten. As a result, there was so little response when they scored that I thought at first it had been disallowed. It makes a much better game when there are two noisy sets of supporters.

i thought i was being ironic. And partly sarcastic. With a bit of piss-take thrown in.

Even tho i knew he had gone, i was having a bite at the pomposity and farce of Tottenhams stance throughout a boring and tedious transfer saga!

my gareth bale running gag will go on, even if iam the only one who thinks its even slightly amusing!

Tommy Cooper never had this trouble jim, - he nevr had to stop mid-way thru and explain a gag!

vaz te might be going to norwich on loan.

revolving doors at Liverpool. Theyv signed Victor moses from chelsea. He could part the red sea of scarves on the kop!!

Mesut Ozil to the Arsenal!!!

Real Madrid made two mistakes in only one day.
In my opinion Ozil is a player more complete and experienced than Bale.

At least they don't have to pay 20 millions per year to Kaka anymore.

Cheers

Juan, you sound like you should be out riding with Tyrone Power??!!

good one - two mistakes in one day!! i expect Bale will do ok there but he is too injury prone to be worth 85 mil.

yes, always been a big fan of ozil since his Werder Bremen days.
an odd move by Real to let him go.
Perhaps they have worse money problems than would appear for a rich club?

And an odd signing for Arsenal. They already have a glut of ball-playing midfielders, altho ozil would probably be their best now. Equally odd is ozil wanting to go there. He is too good for them.
Arsenal really need another good striker.

you can stand down for a bit now jim, no prem for a week.
its time to slag england off again!

btw hav a look at Pennants free kick and tell me what those two stoke players are doing at the end of the wall.
Illegally leaning in and shoving the West Ham players it looks like to me.

i blame the refs - they allow this on-going Stoke brutality and widespread fouling with a glint in their eye and half smirk.
its a mans game - until anyone else except stoke does it.
