Yep, last night's match was dull and poor. No surprise to see Mourinho revert to type after only 3 games, with his pragmatic counter attack style. No wonder Madrid were glad to see the back of him.

Decent start for Liverpool, though bigger tests are ahead. Starting with this Sunday. If he keeps scoring, I'll be happy to put up with the stupid dance...wink

thomas/kev, liverpool at home to united?
predicting football puts you on a hiding to nothing, so its easy not to stick your neck out.
That said, iam not yet convinced by United. They struggled against Swansea and could have been 2-0 down, survived and once van persie got one solo effort, swansea folded and united flourished.
Chelsea have not yet found their level or their strongest team yet United were reduced to three long distance hopeful efforts against Chelsea. What im coming to is that an on-form liverpool could trump a mediocre United.
Of course come sunday United could bang in three and ive made myself look a prat, however i for one would not be surprised if Liverpool give them a game and a scare.

Games against the mancs are always difficult to predict, Bill. However it will be interesting to see how we do and if we have really improved. We look ok going forward, but I'm not convinced defensively. I'm not impressed with Toure, he's never been a player I liked. I have a feeling he may get found out. But we'll see..

taken off on a stretcher so may not be a consideration for sunday.

fab goals from sterling and Sturridge.
hammers thru cup round with unconvincing 2-1 scoreline.

Looks like he may be out for a few weeks. It seems Skrtel is fit again, however Rodgers clearly doesn't fancy him so it will be interesting to see what he does there (I never have either). I think we have to buy another defender, I'm surprised Skrtel is still there to be honest.

Leeds too - slightly more convincing 3-1 away at Donkey Rovers. A debut goal for Scott Wootton will help the supporters to warm to him following his transfer from M*n Utd.

Two away wins in a row, followed perhaps by a home stotting from QPR who will be smarting from last night's humiliation.

Not a good idea to post horror pictures like that, Jim.

Poor TG, he's probably had to throw something at his computer.

As for me I once brushed against a Man Utd jacket in a sports shop by accident - I came out in a rash and had to lie down for days. Never felt so ill.

You didn't think football was about overpaid scumbags chasing a ball around a field, did you? That's so sweet...

It had better not be - I've got a client in Newcastle who's getting us a couple of tickets!

Norwich, Newcastle, same difference. Except for some of the letters.
well, all of the letters, admittedly.

But I knew it was an N name!!!

Well, thats a tougher tie.

Theyre a bit erratic at the moment.
Maybe Pardew has lost only half the dressing room.
You could give them a surprise.
But dont expect any help from the ref.

Gareth Bale is not for sale.

Heh heh - I'll try that one out on the office Gooner.

Vaz Te would be a good addition, but not if it opens the door for McCormack to join the smoggies.

we havent had a bid for Vaz yet so dont hang about, TG.

At Championship level, he can play wide and cut in so no bad thing if you have a good striker.
His goals helped get Hammers out of that division, for sure.

Hey boys, did any of you watch the Super Cup match between Bayern Munich and Chelsea FC? Good stuff. Was the Hazard goal offside? No matter, nice goals all around.

It was great entertainment, for sure. But boy did Mourinho appear cranky right after the match. I find it hard to grasp how he could claim that "the best side lost". Certainly Chelsea was better than in 2012, but superior, no. I think had he talked on for a little longer he would have identified the winning side as FC Barcelona. It seemed as if he was intent to confirm all the pre-match buzz about the Mourinho-Guardiola rivalry.
