Scream Factory, Scream Factory, the horror-thriller offshoot of independent film distributor Shout Factory, has detailed its upcoming Collector's Edition Blu-ray of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. The release will be available for purchase on April 19.
In 1974, horror fans rejoiced upon the release of Tobe Hooper's masterpiece, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The movie raised the stakes of in-your-face filmmaking and changed the face of horror. Twelve years later, Hooper and the Sawyer clan are back with this deviously entertaining sequel, starring Dennis Hopper in one of the most deliciously crazed performances of his career.
For a decade, Texas Ranger Lefty Enright (Hopper) has sought to avenge the brutal murder of his kin by the cannibalistic Sawyer family – Leatherface, Chop-Top, The Cook and Grandpa. With the help of a radio DJ (Caroline Williams), who's also bent on putting an end to the terror, Lefty finds his way to the Sawyers' underground slaughter shop, where a battle of epic proportions will soon rage... and the line between good and evil gets chopped to bits!

From the DVDDRIVE-IN review of ROLLERCOASTER:
"Shout!’s 2K 1080p HD widescreen 2.35:1 transfer of ROLLERCOASTER is a big, big improvement over that old Universal letterboxed disc. Fine image detail, when the shot is close, is impressive (some of the medium shots go soft, but that was the original look of the movie), colors are solid and correctly valued (if unimpressive—Goldstone used a lot of browns and mustards), while grain is a tad loose in some of the aerial and darker shots. It’s pretty cool that Shout! and Universal would include the original 2.1 Sensurround audio track, presented here in TrueHD...but unless you’ve got a bunch of those huge wooden cabineted Cerwin-Vega Sensurround horns sitting around, as well as the wiring and juice to handle the track...it doesn’t make a whole lot of difference. You simply cannot recreate Sensurround in your home theater (even Sensurround couldn’t do it; their own home system was briefly offered, and it failed miserably). So, I actually preferred the DTS-HD 2.0 track here, which was cleaner, with more defined effects and music cues (if you’re wondering where the 5.1 is, remember that EARTHQUAKE was the only Sensurround movie recorded in actual stereo; any stereo effect in the theaters for mono optical ROLLERCOASTER was created through front and back speaker manipulation on the Sensurround track)."

U.S. label Shout Factory and its horror-thriller offshoot Scream Factory have added three new titles to their April batch of Blu-ray releases: Arthur Hiller's Man of La Mancha, Mark Buntzman's Exterminator 2, and Alex Nicol's The Screaming Skull.
Man of la Mancha
Synopsis: Academy Award winners Peter O'Toole and Sophia Loren are magnificent in this "lavishly produced" (LA Herald-Examiner) and "beautifully acted" (The New York Times) epic masterpiece. Featuring an Oscar-nominated score with the classic "The Impossible Dream," this truly beautiful musical is an experience not to be missed!
Jailed during the Spanish Inquisition for offending the church, author Miguel de Cervantes (O'Toole) is to act out one of his manuscripts for the entertainment of fellow inmates. Cervantes delivers a rapturous performance as the legendary Don Quixote, the chivalrous knight whose choice to see life as it should be, not as it is, takes him into battles with an imaginary foe and into romance with the beautiful Dulcinea (Loren).

Exterminator 2
Synopsis: Robert Ginty reprises his role as the vigilante known as the Exterminator in this action sequel. This time, a gang vow to rid New York of the Exterminator after its leader X (Mario Van Peebles)'s brother is killed by the vigilante. When their attack on Eastland gets personal, his alter ego picks up his flame thrower to turn up the heat on the city's criminals.

The Screaming Skull
Synopsis: An already anxious wife is terrorized by unexplainable happenings orchestrated by her greedy husband in an attempt to drive her insane. This film is a gem from a time past whose frissons will continue to creep stealthily into your subconscious. Beware, they say, for you never know what can strike out form the darkness of either your mind or the room you are in.
