Here's a look at some of what I was talking about:

I actually saw this miniature in Brussels when there was a Star Wars exhibition with lots of props from the movies, I believe they even mentioned for that particular miniature they used ear picks (ordinary cotton swabs, indeed like you say) to represent the audience. smile

Oh, and apologies to Mr. Greg for the thread derailment. Should I start a new one for this discussion?

Sure Joe, knock it out.
Oh, and yeah, if you are at work, like me too usually, then whenever you can of course.
Sometimes it takes a while.

Sorry I haven't followed up on this; to be honest, I haven't been really focusing on it, since I don't really feel like doing a lot of research for which I'm not getting graded or paid or anything just to address the misconceptions of strangers on the internet - I don't feel like I should be the one to put in who knows how many dozens of hours to dig up proof of something I know to be true, only so the person to whom I'm responding can look at it for thirty seconds, go "huh, I guess there was a bunch of physical stuff done after all, my bad" and move on, and forget about it in five minutes. I hope others will understand... razz

That said, I came across this thread at TheForce.net devoted to this very topic (the widely-underestimated quantity of physical miniatures, sets, etc. in the prequels), and remembered this discussion, so here's a link. I'll keep looking for sources for my specific earlier statement (more miniatures in Episode I alone than in the entire original trilogy); I'm just not making it exactly a priority of mine (I hope you'll understand!). Anyway, here's the link:
