Of course, CASABLANCA had the best ending of any movie. It's become such a cliché that maybe no everybody realizes this today.

The Mist. Seriously? Interesting. I detest the ending of that movie. I found the original ending of the short novel (one of my favorites by King) much better. I was THRILLED when Frank Darabont made "The Mist" into a movie, but the ending was, in a word, crap.

I tend to like downbeat endings. Night of the Living Dead and The Omen are ones I really liked. Night of the Living Dead is great. I had forgotten about that. The shooting and then the still shots that had a gritty, documentary feel. The hooks in the body. Yes, what an ending.
