A rainout seems likely here in NY which is not good news from my standpoint. Of course if they had tried to play an inning and then it was a rainout and we lost using Johnson, then George would have had the city of New York torch Bud Selig's office!
I still marvel at how back in 1982 the first game of the Cardinals-Braves NLCS was washed out after 4 1/2 innings had been played and Atlanta just needed three more outs for an official game. You just can't let something like that happen.
God, that felt so good to see them get swept, and even nicer that a great Yankee of the past, El Duque, was the key to shutting them down just when they were on the verge of tying the game.
Yeah, ESPN and FOX are hitting the panic button. No Red Sox and No Yankees. I'm gonna laugh when they get a world series with no teams from the East in either league.
If the Angels lose Bengie Molina, they are done. I think they can get to the LCS, but i don't know how far they'll get without their hottest hitter of late. It almost looked lik Gordon did it intentionally=/
well it gives Scioscia the option of putting Colon in game 4 and Lackey in game 5. That gives him an advantage, to have his two best pitchers two more times in this series, and he should do it, then again maybe he's saving Lackey for game 1 of the LCS and is confident in washburn for 4 and colon for 5.
The rain is really bad here in NJ. If there is a remote chance that tomorrow is a washout too, then Torre will go back to Mussina for Game 4 for certain IMO.

what happens if tomorrow gets rained out? What if the yankees win game 4? The ALCS starts on tuesday. They play a 5th game as a day game tuesday in chicago?
Well even if I get rain, Mussina won't start Game 4 because according to the NY sports pages, Mussina has stayed in Anaheim the whole time in anticipation of starting a Game 5.
The Houston-Atlanta game now ranks among the five greatest non-WS postseason games of all time, and the Rocket just added a new chapter to an incredible Hall of Fame career.
If the Yankees bow out, then I want a Houston-Chicago WS which ironically would feature three of the four Yankee starting pitchers from the 1999 World Series team!
If the Yankees hold on in the 9th and win they will be very lucky. I had written them off as dead the instant they fell behind 2-0. That just stems from the fact that post-2001, the Yankees are not a team that can inspire the feeling of comebacks like the old gang of O'Neill etc. could do with me. Giambi not picking up that insurance run has left me uneasy as well, since all that does is remind me of A-Rod not picking up a critical run in Game 5 of the ALCS last year that could have put Boston away.
