Never heard of the Confederations Cup or heard of it and completely forgot znd didn't care Zbout it. Also hadn't realized there were international matches last week. Bolton signed right back right wing back Mark Little who I'm not familiar with but recognise hîs name. Not followed anything else.

You'll never get your MBE or Damehood or whatever for services to tennis... so it'll have to be for comedy. That's how Leeds United got theirs! Oh, Jim - Leeds were never given a damn thing. Just one example (of many)... In the 1969/70 season, Leeds were the first team with a realistic chance of winning the treble of league, fa cup and European cup, but were obliged by the football league to play the following: March 21 - Wolves away in the league March 23 - Man U , fa cup semi replay March 26 - Man U, second fa cup semi replay March 28 - Southampton home in the league March 30 - Derby away, league (Leeds fined for playing understrength side!) April 1 - Celtic in European cup semi first leg April 2 - West Ham away, league (Paul Reaney broke his leg) April 4 - Burnley home, league That's 8 games in 15 days. The football league could have deferred some of them but refused. Incidentally, look out the last game on YouTube and you'll see Eddie Gray scoring the best goal ever. If George Best had scored it you'd still see it in the credits of Match of the Day! And of course the season didn't end there. An exhausted Leeds team played Chelsea off the Wembley turf but could only manage a draw. I mentioned in a post above how the Chelsea tactics succeeded in the replay but in a far more cynical way than "dirty Leeds" have ever employed. I hope you've enjoyed this retrospective of the end of that season. Subscribe for more examples!

That's because Eddie Gray.. is only a shell of a player compared to George best.. No B.S. Pele's words were, George is the greatest player ever to kick a ball, his close-foot ball-control was exceptional, so skillful, so gifted-special. Better than Messi, Maradona, Ronaldo, you got the answer to your riddle. Football back then.. was no b.s. with challenges, tackles, being rough was the norm-thing, his skill level was way to good till this day.

Walkin in to work today, it felt like I was in Spain. T-shirt, shorts, trainers (we don't have a dress code) and tunes in my ears!! It's gonna be HOT!! HOT!! HOT!! today. God, I love this thread Got the day off today and have spent it in t-shirt and shorts and caught up with a few chores. Watched the bluray of Run, Lola, Run over lunch, love that film. For Jim's benefit, I also looked up George Best's top ten goals on YouTube to remind myself how good Eddie Gray was. Eddie has been a great servant to the club he made his debut for at 17, also coaching and managing the team after playing 577 times over 19 seasons at Elland Road - and I believe he's still an ambassador for Leeds. And he was never booked. In other clubs, that sort of record attracts knighthoods. For an unbiased view of Eddie's end to the 1969/70 season, check out The Guardian's website under "Golden goal: Eddie Gray for Leeds United versus Burnley". You'll see that my account actually downplays it. Bitter rant coming up: Maybe if he'd been a media whore who cared about nobody other than himself, tried to have drunken sex with his own son thinking he was a girl and in fact twice drank himself to death (thereby robbing someone else of a perfectly good donated liver) the world would know him better. There, I feel better now
