Hehe yeah TG, if Donkey could hit that onion bag a bit more we'd be bagging about 10 goals per game!
The Liverpool fans started chanting "we're gonna have a party, when Suarez gets a pen" yesterday! It is becoming quite silly now how many times he's chopped in the area and play is waved on. Obviously some fall-out from last seasons bad rap, but the elbow on his shoulder chop yesterday was virtually assault!! At least he gets up, dusts himself off and goes at it again.
Not enough injury time played at Old Trafford. Gotta love Purple Nose! smile

A quote this morning from the red wine loving and barely comprehensible these days Man U manager - "... it's a flaw in the game that the referee is responsible for time keeping. It's ridiculous that it's 2012 and the referee still has control of that instead of me."

Actually, I added the last three words, but we know what he meant. big grin

Come on guys, don't look up in anger! Get into the Premiership and be a part of the action! This thread has become the English Championship thread with all you relegated stumble bums and "Liverpewl" people positively running the joint. I'm going to know more about the second tier from reading your posts than I'll ever know about fornicati--oops, too much information!

Jim, I am afraid mate there is no such place as the Premiership.

It should be a banned word on here.

It is the Premier League.

Some sad sponsor tried to name it the Premiership about ten seasons ago for a season, but it was the Premier League when it started in 92 and its the Premier League now. The people who run it are called the Premier League too.

Anymore uses of this word will mean you get a 70s paperback movie tie-in the post, wrapped in fish.

And yes, its a championship love-in on the non film score discussion forum. But then you will find people who follow their own teams but know everything about the Premier League anyway.

Well, whatever it's called, YOU ain't in it! LOL

Oh wait, you support West Ham, don't you? Well, last year that line would have been devastating...devastating!

did anybody see Carlton Blancmange's one-on-one miss?!!! Two yards wide!!

Even the manager afterwards said it was 'a terrible miss.'

So that's Carlton heading out in january transfer window then!

An unfit Andy Carroll came on and did more in 20 mins than Blancmange did all match.

Battenburg is a dodgy ref though. 9 yellow cards and a sending off in a game where there was no real bad challenges.

Arsenal saturday. Hopes arent high.

That West Ham game was ace. I was glad to see you stuffing QPR, but then when they came back with that ace goal it was tasty to watch. Clattenberg is your typical arrogant ref, who i have no time for. However, sadly, most of those cards he gave were deserved. Except Nolan's, though he does mouth off. Vaz Te wanted a slap for his theatrics.

Cole's miss was a shocker. But you had Noble and a few others knocking great crosses in all game. Wet Spam were good to watch. And as you have three former Wanderers, i guess you should be my Prem team.

Demba Ba had the goal of the week--the first one, anyway-- against Reading. Nice!

Bolton 2 Leeds 2. So me and tall Guy don't have to have a scrap.

Apparently we played osme good stuff, no finishing ability. We'll always concede at least two.

The only problem is we still have Owen Coyle. A defeat would have had him the sack, we hoped.

Thanks for nuthin' TG.

Glad about that - I'm a lover, not a fighter. But don't take that the wrong way...

We got a dodgy-looking penalty, but I'm not complaining. Apparently Rodolph "Rudi" Austin was tasked with marking Kevin Davies but hadn't seen him play much so was unaware he should hack him down at every opportunity.

A point is a point - it's very tight at this stage of the season.

donner and blitzen, TG, not Rodolph again????

You just cant keep a good reindeer down.

Yeah Davies, that used to get me as well.
Davies scored with his head and his elbows every week.
When west ham played Bolton, he would score with his head in the 95th minute and they would all stand rooted looking at each other, as if to say: "Well, that's damned peculiar, Davies got a header, not seen that before!!"

Apparently Demba Ba's volley for newcastle today is a bit special?

Thats fine. No need to credit me for the steer, you just carry on nicking all my best material!! ha ha

Happy days!

Well, not really... three years later we were back in Division 2 for a spell that lasted eight years - but two years after that we were English Champions. Rollercoaster!

Dav - Owen Coyle sacked for only drawing with Leeds!

Just read it TG. Happy about that. Though i will scream blue murder if we somehow land with Roy Keane, football's eternal scumbag (hardcase, my arse. Softest player alive who intentionally ruined a another player's career).

The bets thing is Coyle's backroom staff all got punted, too. They were worthless. We've never been so poor in over a decade. It'll be a rebuild from the ground up. Not sure who i would want, or who is out there. Big Mick McCarthy is favourite - thoguh i cannot stand the bloke, he is a decent manager and might be the Sergeant Major we need.

Saw the news, thought of you Xebec.

Chairman are starting to show signs of getting a little more adventurous in their manager choices in recent years.
We havent quite banished the days of the four rubbish managers who are out of a job because they were shit at their last clubs and who get trotted out by the media as the only candidates, but it is improving.
Also you have to watch the papers chucking names out just to wind fans up.
It gets fans groaning and people writing in and sparks disgust!! Also a litmuss paper for the chairman to see how fans would react to certain managers, if they didnt know before!!

The saddest thing is that group of managers who are crap, have proven to be crap, but get over-indulged by the media and overrated despite their appalling record because of their ex-player status etc.
As you say, Keane is a classic of that. Hughes is another. And Ince.
