Since our news post, there's been some concern from fans about the music included with this release. Some of you seem to fear that it has ALL been removed...especially the popular theme song of the show, performed and composed by "The Police" founder/drummer Stewart Copeland. We've checked in directly with VEI about this matter, and in response they've provided us with the following statement:
"Just under 50% of the music for The Equalizer Series had to be replaced, as the licenses for those songs had expired. The cost of renewing them was not feasible, which is one of the reasons why NBCUniversal had to do the same for their Season 1 release, and opted not to release the remaining seasons of the series themselves. A lot of the music whose licenses had expired was replaced with covers of the original tracks, to maintain the authenticity of the series. Note that most of the music which was replaced is 'incidental' music. The still-intact original music on Visual Entertainment's DVD release includes all of the score written by Stewart Copeland."
