There sure were a lot of crappy movies in 1977.

And yet they're infinitely more fun and memorable than the majority of the shit that comes out nowadays.

Angelillo, is LA DENTELLIERE the one known as "The Lacemaker" in English? That's one I've been intrigued with.

Yes, it is.

And Isabelle Huppert gives a overwhelming performance at portraying the uneasy role of a lonely and gentle soul. Everybody remembers VIOLETTE NOZIERES, the following year, because of the quality of the movie, the criminal plot and the well-deserved Prix d'Interprétation in Cannes.

But between the two movies, LA DENTELLIERE has always been my favourite one.

By a long shot.
