It'll be fine. What can be worse than Bale's strangled Batman voice? It seemed he toned it down in the last film - on occasion, but, it was always a laughably bad choice. Keaton also used a deeper, darker tone as Batman, but Bale's really felt forced - distracting most times.

Only fine if Ben goes full tilt Bostonian/hood with it.

'Like yo Superman, let's go get a cheeezesteak, then goo anh beat yup some bad guys eh?"
Maybe Mark Wahlberg, Casey Affleck and Matt Damon can stop in and they can all have a beer together on a rooftop and tell jokes in full Bostonian accents. That would make the film significantly more entertaining. Though I think that we would need to replace Henry Cavill, or maybe not need him at all.

agreed. would have preferred Karl Urban but Affleck is fine with me. don't get the outcry from the internet at all. more concerned with the people behind the camera. Goyer is a good idea guy but don't know if he's the one i'd have penning the DC cinematic universe.

but reading the comments on comic book movie.com has being very, very, very entertaining.

Michael Keaton was my favorite. Ben Affleck? Not interested.

And the uproar over Keaton's casting in 1989 was just as loud. "Mr Mom? Beetlejiuce? As Batman? No effing way!"

A few years later, the same people were upset over his leaving the role. What that in mind, I'm inclined to wait and see if he sucks.

Or, to paraphrase:

"Can somebody tell me what kind of a world we live in, where a man dressed up as a *bat* gets all of the day's press? This town needs an enema!"

Best quote I've read so far about Batfleck - "You are powerless before the machine, your voice a mere mewling in the dark that will be inevitably silenced either by acceptance or grudging acquiescence, because you know damn well you want to see what happens when Ben Affleck plays Batman."

Christ, I can only imagine what the music will sound like by Zimmer, who will no doubt combine his Superman and Batman themes into one cohesive mass of indiscernible white noise.

Well, he will need at least 24 percussionists, and some German chanting, it needs to sound dark gray, the wave of the future in scoring is grey noise, no sounds outside a very narrow range, other than the gut punches of Low Frequency Effects (LFE)

well maybe, but the triangle sounds would need to sort of smothered sounding, like it was processed through the sound of a thundercloud. Then you would have it

Ben Affleck!

Actually, not quite. The next Batman will be:

Will Arnett!
- yes, really:

But Ben Affleck is the next Batman after that.

and what was the reaction after the movie came out? Not good.
The first movie got very mediocre critical reception and got public criticism from Batman fans(mainly because of how Batman was portrayed and The Joker's origin)
The second movie got trashed by everyone and was a BO disappointment, which is why the studio dumped Burton.

Michael Keaton is a good dramatic actor and did fine as Batman. Ben Affleck is a fine actor, and he will do too.

The real mystery is why a good actor and even better director wants to star in this superhero shit, which only Americans can take seriously. Surely he already has enough money, so ...

Wait, did we just label Snyder better than good? When did that happen?

Also, Man of Steel grossed $290 million in the US and $360 outside the US, so seriously or not apparently people worldwide are taking it.

I was actually referring to Ben Affleck as director.

Keep in mind this "Batman" is second fiddle in a Superman movie. This is a Man of Steel sequel with a Man of Steel cast and direction. This isn't the start of a new Batman series. Some other actor will tackle that.

Not necessarily so - while this is technically the Man of Steel sequel, this is the movie they're using to spin off their "Avengers-like" DC movie universe - so one would assume that Affleck would be Batman in any continuing stand-alone films, team-ups, or the Justice League movie they keep trying to get off the ground.
