Allardyce: I'm loving the Zappa love on your part! Sometimes I mistake you for me, except you are older and obviously more handsome. wink

Do not remember what this group sounded like, but my oldest brother had this in the

The illustrator of this classic cover died of a heart attack at age 24...

For some reason this one has always stuck in my mind as a "classic" or immortal image. It isn't just the skin. I think it's the starkness and absolute quality about it, the distilling of the James Bond fantasy down to its most basic and primitive psychological components:

This one goes straight to the heart of dog lovers past, present and future. The timeless tale (tail) of mans best friend as read by Raymond Massey.

My favorite album cover is the Hipgnosis-designed "Parachute" by the Pretty Things. It is also my favorite rock album of all time -- and I would propose, favorite of mine or not, it is one of the great rock albums, period.

(sorry the above link only works as a cut and paste for some reason --

Actually anything designed by Hipgnosis was just incredibly and stupendously awesome in my book:

P.S. Sorry tried to find a good image of "Parachute" but couldn't find a decent one of the entire gatefold.

When I first saw this LP in my parents' record collection, I was about 11 and thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I won't elaborate any further on that. smile
