the mentioning of short shorts and basketball immediately conjured up a vision of Larry Bird, who I believe led the league in tightest, shortest shorts.

One person who only occasionally went the short-short route was Gabe Kapler, the only reason I ever paid attention to sports in the past.

Only if I'm out of plates! smile

Seriously, I have indeed always had a very "clean" skin, even through my adolescent years. I guess that's a blessing, at least. Thanks for noticing!

Yes, I've long been jealous of you camera-ready types, who always look like you just popped out of the bathtub.

And if you decide to open a restaurant, do let us know, Thor, will you?

Thank you, Cryo, for pointing out this matter. Do you have any other theories or statistics in this area that would lead us to further inquiry?

(Preferably with pictures.)

Sorry. Bird's all I got. Never paid attention to men in shorts - not my thing. smile Larry just happened to be my favorite sports star whose shorts I always thought were noticably smaller than the rest.

Actually, I think the next evolution of basketball-wear might be form-fitting X-Armour. We've gone from short, to short and baggy, to long and baggy. So, form-fitted seems like the next logical choice.

Sorta like the Batman costumes? Maybe in Kevlar?

I find that men who have shortcomings in the leg-department often have other good features.

You, for instance, Thor, have really good skin, if the picture you posted a bit ago is any indication. It looks quite gleaming and flawless

Geez....

I don't know about that, but so many "msmith" postings in a row certainly show off your avatar in wonderful psychedelic fashion!!!

OK BerkeleyDave I've found a movie for you. I rented the Australian film 'Red Dog' and was surprised to see all the men in the shortest of shorts than any film I can recall that was not porn. This is a wonderful 'Family Film', it just happens to occur in Australia in 1972 and I guess it's always hot there and the fashions were different and all, but it was still a bit of surprise.

Don't forget the serials.

(I actually remember they were still showing serials in the early 50's, though not very good ones.)

And the previews. I used to love previews.

You can get programs of nothing but previews. I have 3 DVD's of nothing but sword-and-sandal previews, most of them in execrable condition. They were often much better than the movies they advertised. No surprise there....

Although, actually, when it comes to shorts on guys, I guess it depends on the guy...

Works for me.
