I've suggested other changes, to, to help curb spammers. Off the top of my head:
One forum I have posted at, doesn't let users posts include links (automatically removed) until the user reaches a certain post count.
Here's a new one: new user post limiting. A new user cannot make a ton of posts. and they can't make a lot in a good proper amount of time, until they reach a certain post count (100 would be my suggestion).
Another new suggestion: new users have to have their first five to ten posts approved before they will show on the forum. Each new post must be accepted for the new user to then submit another new post to be approved.
One forum I posted at had a limit on how many posts could be made in a certain amount of time until you reached post count.

we could have some fun with this justin - there are posters who would blow their daily total replying in one thread!! ha ha

Some of my suggestions are automatic by programming. Plus, it's not like there are that many people joining all the time and it's not just the MOD, but also Lukas who can do things here and there's splitting what ever needs to be done.
