More evidence from the inestimable Mr Watt that scotch and sangria don’t really mix!

Or perhaps mix really well.

Superb graham. Glad the spaneesh man is back. That goes straight in favourite posts thread.
Litefoot, u are new here - this is graham si que watt who lives in spain.
And every world cup and euro champs spaneesh man comes out to taunt us.
We are potato heads engleesh. smile

Even if he is Spanish that's a superb translation. smile

I have actually been here since the year dot, but only as a member since 2009. Didn't feel the need to register until then. Dunno why. Just haven't been participating heavily.

Earliest football thread I can find myself in was the 2012 discussion, which included my brilliant prediction for the Champions League final: "Chelsea will be whupped tonight I'm afraid. On neutal ground, and with their first choice 11, they'd have had a chance - but not with a makeshift back four in Bayern's own back yard." Oops big grin

Group F is the trickiest..

All England players are young in there prime, if they don't step up make the final, its failure.

You’re doing great, pal. Meanwhile, back at the World Cup, I reckon we can win this one.

Found my red England shirt, and since the US chose not to participate this time around, I will no doubt wear said England shirt during World Cup Russia--the first three games only, of course; why wear it when they're not playing?

Can't say I fancy Stoke keeper Jack Butland between the sticks for England next summer. He's not having a Joe Hart 'mare, but 32 goals conceded this season ain't great.

Fraser Forster had a solid game today against Chelsea he made six saves, he's actually a good-keeper, England's No-1.

I think he'd be my choice for Russia, yep.

Is it too late for Adrian to qualify to play for England? wink

If Adrian had been living in the UK more than 5 years, then he'd be eligible for England, I remember Arsenal keeper, Almunia was & wanted to play but McLaren would never call him.

Is Everton's goalie English? He's pretty decent when I've seen him.

He’s a Mackem. I suppose that qualifies him to play for England.

Right now the 2 keepers in form are Forrester, Pickford, I couldn't believe the Everton match last week vs Chelsea, Pickford made 9 saves, super-keeper. Their both young under 30, if Southgate fails to realize this I'd sack him.

Only eleven weeks to the start of the World Cup.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43568047

Not the news you want to read before the start of a global tournament. There are so many potential issues. Hooliganism, racism... will the current poor standing of Russia due to poiltics/the poisonings come to the fore as well?

Yeah. Bad smells all around.
Plus, the Russian team are pretty bad.
I wonder how much HELP they will get to at least qualify from their group?
I bet their chemists are hard at work!
They might just get their stegged-up, para-military hooligans to put on the national kit and jack boot their way to the final!!

Yes, their defence wears gums shields, knuckledusters and carries syringes of some fast-acting virus. Jamie vardy could grow a third chin by halftime.

England are 12-1 for the World Cup. For those of you who don't understand betting: if you bet £10 at 12-1, you'll lose £10.
