Funny how no one mentions James Cameron's biggest accomplishment with Avatar. Bringing bestiality into the mainstream. eek

Bringing bestiality into the mainstream.:

It's one of his biggest passions, second to deep sea diving!

Just mention Prometheus or Avatar and watch the argument start.

For all it's mistakes, Prometheus is a vastly better movie.

Noooooo, Prometheus isn't better than anything razz I mean... last week at work I sliced my finger pretty deep with a box cutter, and it was still better than watching Prometheus big grin

I also think it's insanely hip to shit on Avatar, even five years later.

Hardly. More people like it than not. The visual FX are what won people over. Cameron admitted the story played second banana to the FX.

I'm mostly surprised how long they are taking between the Avatar movies. Sure I really liked Avatar when it came out but that seems like a long time compared to the speed at which other sequels are coming out these days. I thought we'd have the second film by now.

Considering it took a dozen years between Titanic and Avatar, I'm not surprised in the slightest. People might rag on Cameron for his screenwriting skills, but the man is a notorious F/X perfectionist. I'm sure, whatever narrative faults they may have, the Avatar sequels will look SPECTACULAR.
