US sweep of Slopestyle Skiing = sweet!

Those guys (from all countries) make Spiderman look like a challenged klutz. smile

Yeah, I stay up past midnight most nights watching it. As for the guys from slope style skiing, they were fantastic and I was thrilled when they brought out the box of Kellogg's corn flakes this morning with them on it!

Have to admit winter olympics is not my thing, not that's there's anything wrong with that wink; too many disciplines and athletes I don't care for. That said, I did find myself watching some of it today and especially the skating and alpine skiing were interesting with some very close times.

I'm watching the Figure Skating, rather enjoying it so far. Pleased that Germany is doing so well. If surprised smile

Grateful that I can use Internet streaming (though today's is messed up) to get the BBCs broadcast as the German channels don't seem to be following the figure skating much.

Yeah, like you see the skating event now, which is basically just a Dutch championship.

On the other hand, my sense of national feeling is still so strong that I want us to win as much as possible.

The Norwegians arent even gonna bother with the 10 km speedskating.
Really lame!

Apparently it's hotter in Sochi than on the East coast of the United States. Lots of complaints of bad slushy snow. For two days they had to cancel events because of fog.

That's because we suck in skating right now. I don't blame them for skipping that event, to prioritize the team sprint.

The only event I have any interest in is the Curling. I enjoy it, and even watch the European and World Championships during the year. It's helped by having this little lass feature of course...(Eve Muirhead, GB and SCO Skip).

My husband watches the Curling as well. He actually enticed my son into watching it. This is the only event he is following. It is very interesting.

You do that if that gives you pleasure. I doubt they'll do very well, but better than if they had exhausted themselves on the 10k. Also, you shouldn't be laughing too loudly. Remind me again of the winter sports beyond skating that the netherlands excel at?

Touche.

The Netherlands don't know what snow is.

Poland is a decent winter sports country with a few stars, like kamil stoch and jusztyna kowalczyk. However, ireland and turkey are not winter sports countries. But they may have an athlete or two in the games, i'm not sure.

Pesky Canadians defeated our Eve 6-4 in the semi final of the Curling. Best we can hope for is the bronze medal tomorrow...

Very true mate. We are the masters of distance skating, and nothing else.

Still...it's paying off. wink

I think the only way any other country can compete with you in skating is if we build tons of canals in every city,
