Agreed Bill, I thought The Hammers were very poor last night. The tactics seemed to be pass it back to the keeper and let him hoof it up to that big guy with the ponytail. Fat Sam really is a relic, isn't he? I actually thought Wigan gave Arsenal a better game of it...

makes the liv v chelski game even mor important now.

people always look at run-in against relegation teams as easy 3 points - but its about now when the crap teams finally realise theyre in trouble and start scrapping and tryin harder.

Well, it falls to me to point out the bleedin' obvious - what a shame that Moysie's gone the journey. He gets my vote for Manager of the Season.

Liverpool now look odds on, especially with Chelsea apparently getting the green light to play a weakened team (something Leeds were severely punished for in the [admittedly distant] past) and Sunderland may yet get out of relegation trouble.

What a fascinating end to the season!

Ours is over, bar the shouting.

Mine too. ManYoo fans needn't worry though, now that serial shagger Ryan Giggs is in charge! A 'Special Club', indeed...

On a more interesting note, you will all be delighted to hear that my local team Cliftonville won the Irish League for the second year in a row at the weekend. I've been drinking steadily ever sincewink

Ah, poor old Moysie, what a lovely guy. That's what everyone's saying online, but we don't know him, he might be a cad & a rotter for all we know. I always thought he looked ill, with that pallor & those watery eyes (but then again, he could be quite healthy looking for a Scotsman!), & I do find it hard to feel sorry for someone with that much money.

It's been a fascinating season, I don't really care who wins, all the interest is at the bottom, no one is down & out yet, & the bottom three all insist that they can escape the drop. I hope Sunderland beat Cardiff, I want to see Tan go down! Is this a record season for managers sacked? Maybe still time for one or two more to go.

...& I hope Arsenal make forth place.

That result was an irrelevant dead cat bounce.

And so, after one unfortunate miscontrol of the ball, the title slipped away...

Liverpool just never really looked like scoring yesterday, Mourinho done his usual getting his team to defend deep and hoping for one or two chances. Awful to watch, but effective. Liverpool just didn't have any Plan B, and I'm wondering if we should have just played for a point and do Chelsea at their own game.

I'm pretty gutted and I'm sure Kev is too. Unlikely City will let us off the hook, I doubt Everton will get anything against them. Ah well...

As of this post (and the 87th minute), it's Bayern Munich 0 Real Madrid 3 (Ramos 2, Ronaldo).

Repeating as back-to-back CL holder is a difficult task in recent decades.

Bayern Munich 0 Real Madrid 4

Looks like there'll be a new champion of Europe this year. Way to go, Real.

I watched some of it. Nice to see a team in all white stuffing Bayern. If Franz der Kaiser was on the bench instead of the pressbox he'd have had the ref in his pocket just like in 1975.

With the World Cup on the way, do the denizens of this thread think that a separate thread for that event should be in order? It'd keep things neat and tidy and then we could return here for transfer news and the start of the 2014-15 league football year.

Absolutely - but it should have "Futbol" in the title to distinguish it. Start away, old boy!

I'd be happy enough with that Phelpsie, as long as we're allowed some Enger-land bashing when they fail miserably and we can post pictures of the attractive Brazilian women we will see throughout the tournamentwink

Oh and my prediction from the start that Real Madrid will win the Champs League is looking spot on.
