In a discussion about "Hello, Dolly!" I just posted this little paragraph, which I think would be more appropriate here: In the new broadwayworld.com there's a link to an interesting interview with Martin Charnin, with a lot of discussion about his "Annie" and the new movie coming out with a black cast and a lot of new songs. We discover that Charnin was a Jet in the original Broadway production of "West Side Story," that he wrote for a TV review that Anne Bancroft did, that he was allowed to go through some unpublished Richard Rodgers music to fashion 2 new songs for a revival of "Two By Two," and some interesting information about "Bar Mitzvah Boy," a show he did with Jule Styne." (Interestingly, nothing about the first movie of "Annie.") Check it out.

Anybody know anything about the 2 CD set of "One Touch of Venus"? Apparently it stars the wonderful Melissa Errico (her new album is "Legrand Affair," which I've come close to buying), Brent Barrett, and Ron Raines, with music by Kurt Weill (Mary Martin was in the 1943 original). I see it was done with the National Symphony Orchestra and Amazon is selling it for $25.55. Could use some info on it!

I Always though it would be cute if every member of CATS sought of did one type of of form of music each since time begin[well maybe not plausible, everyone] and then gradually as the act goes on they mingle in unison . I thought of that years ago when watching BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS during the number, PORTEBELLO ROAD.

Make sense, since CAT'S began way back in the early 80's RAP music has become a popular form of music. So it is just going with the times.
