The packaging is double-sided, with Edward/Bella on the front and Jacob on the back. The Blu-ray discs come housed inside a photo-album case, with the discs inserted into the pages rather than into standard Blu-ray cases. Unfortunately, while this type of book-style packaging may be nice to look at, there's the risk of scratching the discs, so consumers will need to be extra careful when removing the discs.
I'm soooooooooooooo glad I refused to buy the first boxed set that was released, startled that it had almost NO special features -- I just knew that it was inevitable that Summit would eventually release a more complete set. Would you call this a "Guilty Pleasure" for some of us???

TG: So you're saying that you would only watch these if they paid you to do so. I realize that much of the acting is wooden, but I became hooked on the first one and found enough in the 4 sequels to keep me coming back for more. So you can go back to your 10th viewing of "The Tree of Life" and "The Master."

It all comes down to the inevitable: Art is in the eye of the beholder, and I'm not going to rip apart anyone who likes that which I don't like, and I would hope that the "Twilight" haters can accept that others may genuinely admire that which they don't like. You, mastadge, aren't guilty of it, but I've seen a lot of bullying here by people who seem to be outraged by the differing tastes of others. Can't we all just get along???

The first was truly awful. I have been meaning to watch the rest just to hear the scores in context but haven't yet been able to bring myself to do it.

Bullying is where someone not only holds a differing opinion to you but also calls you an idiot for holding yours. That does happen hereabouts but surprisingly little. Certainly less now than eight or ten years ago. Don't confuse disagreement with not getting along.
And, to be fair, if it weren't for differing opinions, you wouldn't be getting any reaction at all as yet - and isn't being ignored MUCH worse than being engaged regardless of viewpoint?

TG: I guess, but just this past week I've had a couple of nasty encounters with people I'll merely call pompous and condescending and who seemed to feel that anyone who disagreed with them must be an idiot. Again, I made the point that that doesn't apply to you. But you might be surprised to read some of what may have slipped past you elsewhere on this site.

Sorry Ron, I can go as far as liking that Desplat score, and as I said Kristen and Taylor are very pretty. And I really do not get Robert Pattinson, neither very handsome or a very good actor either. Much of this seems derivative of Twin Peaks material, like Twin Peaks with vampires.

Well, Tyler grew up to be very tall and very sexy, and he plays the slightly older wolf in MTV's "Teen Wolf," one of my guilty pleasures. As Edward, he would have had this strong and brooding masculinity that Pattinson can only dream about and a face and bod the girls would have adored -- try to stream an episode of "Teen Wolf" if you can! Or check out Tyler Hoechlin on IMBd. As for your liking Alexandre Desplat's music for the second in the series ("New Moon"), in my view it's by far the weakest of the 5 movies and the music was, for many of us, a tremendous letdown, and while I've liked some of Desplat's music over the years ("Coco Before Chanel," "The King's Speech"), there's little of his score for #2 that I want to hear again. Let's face it: You aren't a big "Twilight" fan, so why even bother? But then I joined some of the "Tree Of Life" discussions here to knock a movie that I knew some had genuine affection for, so who am I to criticize others for stopping by here who don't care for "Twilight"? Take care.

hmm, well I thought that the first picture was fine, honestly I did not recall which movie Desplat scored. I thought his central theme was rather nice, perhaps not the greatest score, but I thought his theme got at a mood like Angelo Badalamenti is so good at, a mood for the dark forest.
It could be in the casting they wanted a guy less muscular than Taylor, and more moody James Dean-esque, I do not think it was successful though. Although putting Taylor and Tyler on the screen in one movie might have seemed more like a gay soap opera with two really handsome and muscular guys, it might have appeared they should be with each other, more than with Kristen Stewart - starting off into space by herself.
I have not watched Teen Wolf new yet. Okay on that.
Well, I was not thread bashing here, really I have never understood the deep affection some have for the whole series. Of course I know why teen girls like it.

I just noticed that I never responded to the above. First, you made me laugh a few times -- especially about Taylor and Tyler in the same film! -- and again just now when I re-read it. You're not alone in not caring for the series, as evidenced by the disdain voiced by some here. I guess that's the very definition of a guilty pleasure! I have SO many Blu-rays and CDs on backorder, and had forgotten that this elaborate set should be coming to me shortly, and think I'll give it a weekend and watch all 5 of them in sequence and some of the extras.
