I'll take 3 over 2 anyway. I find 2 unwatchable.

Every aspect of the production of JURASSIC PARK III is far below the first two. The music, the effects, the story, the characters, the sets!

The author of this review brings up many reasons, and more, of why I hate JURASSIC PARK III.

THE LOST WORLD has a great elaborate scene with the trailor over the cliff, JP3 has a plane stuck in a tree. THE LOST WORLD story has INGEN taking dinosaurs off the island, JP3 has 7 people looking for a kid.

JP3 while a flawed film, is at least entertaining in a "B" movie way with one of the coolest dino showdowns in film history. JP2 is an embarrassing mess in every department from script to screen. (IMHO)

I recently tried to watch these films again. I made it through the first one okay. Made it about 45 minutes into the second before I had to stop. It's been a couple months and I haven't mustered the enthusiasm to return to it yet. It was just awful. Maybe I'll give the third a go and see if I can make it through.

In addition to my above post, TLW has the great scene with raptors in the tall grass, the rexes attacking the trailor, the round up scene in the beginning, the compy attack scene in the stream, the rex in San Diego. The Spino winning the fight in JP3 was very disappointing!

A white character that has the darkest skin kid possible. A T-rex that tippy toes around. A cliff that comes out of no where. A vehicle that has a large pane glass window in its rear that wasn't there earlier. A T-Rex that some how gets on top of a boat, eats the crew then sneaks back into its little hiding place. A T-Rex smart enough to push a vehicle off a cliff, but doesn't stick around when his prey climbs back to the top. That's just from memory.

It does have plot holes, but the set pieces are fantastic, and better thought out and executed than any in the third. TLW was more complex a film.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my thoughts on the trilogy, but it's a trilogy I feel strongly about!

You and me alone, brother. JP III was SHIT. The Lost World wasn't very good, but at least it had Spielberg behind the camera, a John Williams score and some good setpieces.

The Lost World is a ponderous, politically correct bore with too many characters, a deeply uninteresting plot, bad jokes, bad excuses for action setups and a middle school girl kicking a velociraptor.

I would take a slew of other fare (including JPIII) long before revisiting such a warm puddle of offal, never mind posting a YouTube video as if it was some kind of empirical statement of fact.

Of course it's not an empirical statement of fact anymore than your opinion is, I just said I agree with it.

I'm looking forward to a 4th movie.

I have no idea if it will have kids in it, but if it does, I hope the film makers have the balls to make some of them chow. Modern-day dinosaurs stretches credibility enough, but to have 3 movies in a row where not even 1 kid gets eaten is just plain retarded.

It's all just talk... I know such a thing would never happen. big grin

I just recently watched all the Jurassic Park movies on Blu Ray with my child. He had not seen any of them. I enjoy all the movies quit a bit, but my order of appreciation is still the same. One, Three, Two. The ending in The Lost World just doesn't work for me. I am looking forward to part 4. Hopefully it will be good.

Oh, lll wasn't that bad. As said above, it was a nifty, economical sequel. Fast set up, some entertaining action set pieces, some harking back to the original novel, and a fine score from Don Davis.

The Lost World had the fantastic RV-over-the-cliff scene. Yep, it was another vehicle over the cliff, but well designed with a fabulous score for the entire long sequence.

Hell, the first film is kinda creaky these days. It is the best of the 3, but, they pretty much tore the guts from the novel and made it family friendly. And the annoying young girl and the absolutely ridiculous computer interface GUI she navigates at the climax...the movie ain't perfect big grin
