Episode 1 - spoilers the fight back has been too long coming. The prep was good, the marking off the list idea. But now the fightback has arrived it seems a bit feeble so far. Hardly any saviours dead except lookouts. And the dream/future all a bit annoying. They were supposed to catch them by surprise but all they did was shoot up a load of windows and infest the stronghold courtyard with walkers. Clearly it cant all happen in ep 1 but i wanted at least a saviours lieutenant dead. And when you open fire with a machine gun on an open balcony of 5 targets, you would usualy hit at least 1 or 2.

Yeah joanie cant add to that. Good analysis. I think the next few episodes could well be real time as "tomorrow" unfolds. I do hope they have more "plans" up their sleeve than killing guards and shooting windows. It make sense that they would herd walkers up their arse but i didnt see any saviours shooting them or being eaten. I guess it feels like after all this time i want Rick n co to have a real win episode. And with gabriel captured and no saviours dead, it felt like Negan still had a 1-1 draw!!

The usual crap: Multiple opportunities to off the guy who's made life a living hell for many people (and killed SPOILER Glenn and Abraham /SPOILER, yeah right), and what happens? They shoot over/around/beneath him — and his jerkwad helpers. What a waste of time and resources. They used water (you have to drink it), gas (Arco's not open, right?), and bullets up the wazoo. And that was about it. A show of force and what's different at the end? A bunch of idiots patting each on the back. "Yeah, that was good! Did you see that?" (Rick's speech at the beginning stunk, too.) So what's different at the end? This: Gabriel cowering in a dark space with Negan. Had the former forgotten he had an automatic weapon? You also have everyone's favorite Vulcan female cosplayer Jadis, and her band of zombapoc goths, back at their digs. So let me guess: Negan's going to go over there and say "Hey, I have another battle for you to fight!"

I recorded it, but haven't got around to watching it yet, I also recorded The Talking Dead, which from what I've seen of it looks to be more entertaining than the actual show. To me, the story of the show is that they get bogged down: they stayed at the farmhouse too long, at the prison too long, the Negan thing has been going on too long. I think the first series is still the best one, great narrative drive, the thing drives forward to the explosion at the end, it makes a great stand alone show.

I think it's time for the group to move to a city, all those apartments & shops full of stuff, & of course probably millions of walkers, but the survivors are getting pretty good at dodging them now, & I'd think no other groups trying to eat or kill them. The series certainly needs a shot in the arm, but even if this is the last series, 8 seasons is not bad. What's more far fetched than Zombies, is the state of the survivors health, they're just too damn healthy given what they're living on, & they all have Hollywood teeth despite eight season of hitting each other in the mouth...& no dentists!

So apart from the rinse-spin plot cycle, the low ratings, the inability to kill the villain, the prolonging of the plot, the shiny teeth, the scrubbed-up characters, the dull heroes, the boring zombies, ...what has the walking dead ever given us...!!
