TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 CELEBRITY PHOTOS---the FBI and Apple are investigating online nude photos of female celebrities that were apparently hacked from their iCloud accounts. Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Yvonne Strahovski, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and others were among the alleged celebrity victims. Jennifer Lawrence's reps confirmed the photos of her in various stages of undress and added, "This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence." Mary Elizabeth Winstead also confirmed the nude photos of her are authentic, "To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves." She added, "Knowing those photos were deleted long ago, I can only imagine the creepy effort that went into this." Ariana Grande denied the purported photos are of her, "hell nah.... praying for the people who believed that was me lmaoo... my petite ass is much cuter than that." THE WALKING DEAD---poster released for Season 5 which premiers on October 12. 24: THE MOVIE---a movie based on the Kiefer Sutherland tv series is being pitched again to 20th Century Fox after the good ratings of the 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY miniseries. We all have to be on our guard against the crass commoditization of unwilling parties' sexuality. It's just infuriating. In an unrelated matter, I'm having a little trouble finding these photos online. Does anyone know where they are? Click my name for email.

The average person has far too much faith in the cloud. I'm as disgusted as most others that nude photos of these people have been stolen and leaked, but to be perfectly honest, I'm surprised this kind of thing doesn't happen more often. After this, I'm sure most celebrities (and a good many others) will think twice about the wisdom of putting sensitive data in any cloud service. Personally, I wouldn't even upload a text document to the cloud. My desktop has almost 8TB of storage between its internal and external drives, and my phone has 32GB that I can use to carry around most data I want access to on-the-go. I've considered investing in those of those home "cloud"-type hard drives that you can access remotely, but I still haven't had any true need of it, and I'm unsure if the security is much better than a true cloud unless you put it behind a hardware firewall or hardware encrypt its data.

These celebrity "victims" are in the business of being looked at and fawned over. I doubt they're suffering that much. Because they are famous, they aren't entitled to any privacy? Thats the "News Of The World" way of thinking.
