Beware the 'curve of under breast'.

SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR---poster released etc etc

This wouldn't be a problem in Italy or France, I'd say.

The remake will include CGI Abdominal Snowmen.

What he said. Cliffhanger is a superb movie and absolutely does not require a remake, a reboot or a re-anything! Except a re-watching.

Possibly the last big action movie that didn't rely on CGI.

Indeed....though I do wish a re-edit would be available without that guy seemingly pissing himself laughing at someone dying...but that's just me....

I'm so glad men are never used as sex objects on posters either. That way, they're keeping it equal.

AssHOLES.

Wait, we can't show that either.

The Sin City poster is superb. Maybe some day we can relegate censoring bodies to history? Rate, don`t block, alter, or mute. That female is stunningly captured.

Remake? Cliffhanger?!? You`ve got to be kidding. Its one of Stallone`s best, and one of the best of its genre.

The reasons for the rejection is beyond moronic. The things we humans waste our time on...

Exactly. It's the human form. Are we going to put pants on Michaelangelo's David? How about Venus de Milo? Does she need a shirt? They're body parts. If they're acceptable in those contexts, they're acceptable in all artistic contexts. It was a well-composed, beautiful shot. Let's move on already, MPAA.

If memory serves, "Cliffhanger" did use early CGI to hide the safety lines strung to Stallone when he was on the side of the mountain. Also as I recall, the "blurring" of the cables stood out quite a bit.

Why did they film that movie in the Alps (which do NOT look like the Rockies at all)?

Real D 3D, indeed (natively shot!). If the poster is any indication, could be an--ahem--seminal moment in stereoscopic filmmaking history.

It's never mattered more: Truth In Advertisting.

Here's hoping it's better than the last movie with Katie Holmes and Helen Mirren (Teaching Mrs. Tingle).

I see no problem in remaking CLIFFHANGER, and don't understand the outrage at this proposal. Sure, it's a good potboiler already, but it's very "90s" so there's definitely room for a more contemporary sensibility.

That being said, I'm not generally a fan of remakes -- but that's a different discussion.

But whats the point? Its not like it was made in the 30's where the style of acting was so different. There's nothing to update effects wise. Hell even the star has had a resurgence of sorts the last few years.

The boobs!!! We can't take it!
No mention of the gun though.
I know what I'd rather have pointed at me

No point, really. Again, I'm not usually a fan of remakes. But I can understand the rationale behind the idea in this 'climate of remakes'. The film is rather dated and the style is very 90's, so there's room for an "update".

In either case, I think it makes more sense than some of the other reboots we've seen in recent years, where they're actually rebooting something that was just rebooted a couple of years earlier (HULK, SPIDERMAN etc.).

Those movies make hundreds of millions of dollars in gross receipts and the genre is hot right now.

Cliffhanger? That's going to be a write-off. There is absolutely no need to remake that film. The remark "It's only 20 years old" is a very valid one in this case.
