Is Lalaland still planning to release some Dimitri Tiomkin titles this year or have they been pushed back to 2014 with the Warner titles you have referred to ?

I'll just say this -- we do have a box set planned for release. It's gonna be 8 cds

We've known about this for awhile. Anyone care to speculate? A movie series? A television series? One composer? A compilation? Maybe we can get another hint?

My guess: the surviving Korngold material was too much of a jumbled mess (as Lukas has claimed) that more individual releases weren't feasible after the initial FSM two-fer. As a box set with all scores being worked on at once, it made more sense. Intrada doesn't do box sets, so through Lukas the project made its way to LLL, who has also dealt with WB material (maybe this will be 90th Anniversary-branded?)

It's 8 CDs only because its just what could be salvaged (some of these scores are from the 30s and probably only survive in partial form) and omits Kings Row and Sea Wolf which both already have definitive releases on the 2 disc FSM set...

Additional point that leads me to think the rest of the Korngold material is coming out as a set: Lukas deliberately held back some Rozsa MGM scores for the FSM Green Box specifically because they seen exposure, many as bootlegs or at least "grey" releases. Since many original Korngold tracks have seen release on labels like Tsunami, that may have been one reason they were held back after the release of Kings Row/Sea Wolf...

Much as I would love a Korngold set, I have a hard time imagining a $120 8-disc set of Korngold is a business model that would make any sense for LLL.

Would 8 CDs be enough for a comprehensive Tales From The Crypt collection? MV did post on the boards about 3 or 4 years ago if anyone might be interested, but it seemed to fizzel out. This was before box sets really took on.

I really hope its a LW set, but unless they found a boatload of previously unknown material, 8 CDs is a bit too much, no?

Also, Black Friday is generally their "Money Shot" batch, catering to really popular and recent decades, so a Korngold set Would be an odd choice for their flagship black friday blow a huge load fest.

But what do i know? This speculation stuff is rediculous and there should be a warning label for super obsessives in these threads. LOL

Looking forward to Day of The Dead, both Elfman titles, whatever the black friday titles are. but it looks like Christopher Drake's The Dark Knight Returns won't be coming out this fall or ever. I was looking forward to that getting released since the BluRay is coming out next month.

Pretty sure that's six Varèse exclusives.

A LW set would be a dream come true but 8 cd's might be pushing it unless they are including the songs from the soundtracks too??? Hmm... Could be now that I think of it!

I usually don't partake in speculation, but I had Tales from the Crypt in mind as well. That is one of very few releases that would have me forking over $120 for, aside from a number of older Universal TV shows. I love the soundtracks for the Lethal Weapon series, but 8 discs does seem like too much.

Is Star Trek Enterprise still in the mix? Could that be the box set?

I imagine Enterprise will be a 4-disc set like Deep Space Nine... and I'll have to backtrack a bit but I think M.V. said it wouldn't make the cut this year anyway.

After reading the latest update, I'm wondering if Police Academy will make it this year.

I don't have the quote handy, but MV addressed "Enterprise" about a week ago. He said early next year, and I think he said hopefully February.

He said he hopes to have "Police Academy" in October. Just waiting on approval from WB. That could come any time, hell, it could have came hours after he made the post.

Thanks for that. I was off line all last week and missed that news.
