Really looking forward to this. Still hope they don't chuck it in the 11th hr for some crappy more popular styled generic score. Would be a travesty if it happened. As long as Edwards has most of the control over his project we should be safe however.

This may well be one of the best new scores of the year. Is there a CD release date set yet?

The movies comes out in mid May so it's unlikely we will get any information any time soon.

That's some legitimate buzz... "...people who worked on the GODZILLA score agree: 'It was a lot of fun!'"

wink

Oh good. For a second I thought that sticker listed some other artists and I feared it'd be a "half song half score" CD.

Huh. Not much to go on with that minute... The very end sounded like a chord progression sounding a bit like the original Godzilla score... Sorry forgot the composers' name right now.

You see, you have to make most of the effects look real, do it with great suspense, shadows, quick cuts[Godzilla-54-Beast from 20, 000 fathoms Gorgo[lourie]or so realistic[KING KONG-76- subway car wreck] and exciting.Otherwise you just got a silly monster film and no matter how good the score is it won't save the film- GORGO-59- LOURIE-HOWARD- LAVAGINO-The score by ANGELO was so good because the film was well done, otherwise you will have REPTILICUS-61- Terrible film. even though it has a lovely waltz in the score, it does not do anything for the film.THE GREAT DESPLAT can only do so much, he can't save a bad film.

So when I sit my butt down to see this film soon, I am expecting something fantastic and if I don't get it i am going to say to LOURIE wherever he is in the next world, YOU ARE STILL THE KING, with all that money they still blew it.Let's see what happens. personally they should have call the film THE BIG G-[that way it won't give off a negative stereotype vibe] because let's be honest I and many others feel those films except for the original was the low end of genre films. Very embarrassing.

The sample sounds like something it could be from the score. It has the bowed vibraphone/high piano hits that Desplat uses on his scores. The Amazon website has updated the page with the tracklist and looks like most of the music for the big scenes of the film are in the CD (though I wonder if the music for the 4 minutes clip was kept in the film or Desplat re-scored the sequence for the final cut).
