AND it's the movie's 20th anniversary. If any title screams out for an 40-minute album presentation, it's Falling Down. I love the whole of it, but it wouldn't be an easy listen at 70 minutes.

I was doing some work yesterday and listening to HEAT, and it struck me that HEAT is also a high profile, high pedigreed WB film with a score worthy of expansion. There must be reams of material that didn't make the final film, including Goldenthal's version of the finale music which Mann ultimately dumped for the Moby track.

Looking forward to Police Academy, Matrix Reloaded and X-Files. Is the Police Academy release the first film only; or a boxset for the series? In addition to hoping for a Matrix Revolutions release sometime down the road, I'd also be really interested in a release for the Animatrix shorts. I was always disappointed that the CD which came with the DVD+soundtrack edition had barely any score material on it.

The Warriors come out to play! What great news! I hope there's some good score tracks, including the bit at the very beginning, which I've always wanted. Another one off the ever shrinking list of holy grail scores I want.

I wrote to Walker one time, and she replied. It was early on in my contacting of composers, so it wasnt' the greatest of letter on my part. I don't remember if I asked about it or if she just brought it up herself, but I recall her not being entirely pleased with her work on "Turbulence". I should find where I put that letter now that the score is coming. I guess my opinion of the score is better than her own. It's exactly what you'd want the score to be from Shirley Walker. It's like her Batman starring in a Die Hard movie. Love Shirey, but TURBULENCE has always reminded me in parts of Debney's SUDDEN DEATH (which in parts sounded like JNH's THE FUGITIVE!)
