I hope they fix the prologue. I think there is a problem with this track on the original cd.
Really ? Of course it's not the trailer version, but it's great as a prologue... What's the problem ?
The trailer music was recorded at 48khz like everything else, but for whatever reason when it got transferred to 44.1khz for the CD master, instead of resampling it, they just converted it, resulting in it playing 8.8% slower than the original recording!
For 21 years we've all been listening to an artificially and incorrectly slowed down version of the original trailer music on CD!!!
!!!!!
So it IS the trailer recording, but slowed down... I'm HOOKED !
Indeed it is. The trailer that used that music was on youtube for a while, but was recently taken down, so I can't link to it. But that's exactly was "Prologue" is - his original trailer recording, artificially and mistaken slowed down by computers before being put on CD. Hopefully the new liner notes explain this. BTW, the original cue name on Williams' sheet music is "Hook Trailer".
I HATE this score. It is the WORST score ever written and I can't understand why anyone record label would waste their time and money releasing it. I will definitely NOT be buying this release the second that it is available!
Actually I don't like the score either, from what I've listened on youtube. But we need to adopt a "I win/ you win" attitude. There are people who yearn for John Williams' expanded releases. Therefore I don't think that it is a waste of time, neither money. I trust that it will sell fast - the best scenario would be within 1 or 2 days.

I think Peter was using a touch of reverse pyschololgy in his post there!
