Do we know, what the price for the BATMAN CDs will be? I would like to know in dollars please.

Yeah, I was going to post this question, but I thought I must have missed it, the price must be somewhere, but no, not even on La-La's website yet.

Not sure if this has been asked/answered previously because i have only skimmed the replies so far....

I noticed that every track on the "film version" of Batman has an astrix, denoting that it is a previously unreleased version.

Many of these tracks are represented on the existing album (albiet in a slightly different version as represented in the film). I would have thought that these tracks would be be marked "additional music" or something to that effect.

My question is - was the existing album a re-recording of cues used in the film - much like the John Williams 'Jaws' album?

Thanks

Rick

I actually agree with you here, and and I would hope that anyone buy any release wants the music, not just some weird "must support them". I kinda shudder when i see "I have every one of their CDs" without at least a "and I love them all"

One should never underestimate the power of customer loyalty - most companies could only wish they had a client base who would (blindly, happily) buy every single item they produced (whether it's CDs, or something else).

La-La-Land has built for itself an amazing rapport with its customers (saying this with no prejudice to any of the other labels), so I'm not surprised if people are willing to support its releases even though it's double- or triple-dipping.

Personally I'm having a small dilemma with the "Krull" myself since I already have the Supertracks edition; although what I might do is get the new LLL edition, and donate the other one to the local library (for tax credit, of course.)

Price answers:

Why, in all this excitement I forgot to list it:

Batman - $29.98

Krull - $24.98 (regular price), but for the first month of release it will be $19.98 (and that special price will be offered to ALL wholesale outlets as well)

Predators - $15.98 (the first 100 or so booklets will be signed by John Debney, at no extra charge)

Our special sale for this upcoming month will be THE FLASH for $19.98, in honor of "Batsy" being released!

Hmmmm.....$7 off. Though it's more like $4 off after shipping compared to Moviemusic.com. Decisions decisions.

I'm re-buying it as well.

Mark!!!

I'm just wondering, aside from the fact that it's going to be in a smaller jewel case ($20 for a jewel case?), the liner notes ($20 for liner notes?), and the remastered audio (how much better can you make it sound?), why bother? LLL puts out so many good titles that you probably don't have, why buy another Krull? I've already spent $85 on Krull over the years (the Gold disc and the Super Tracks edition, which I instantly converted into a slimline 2CD case), and I'm sure you guys have, too. For another $25, the Ambrosian Singers should drive over to my goddamn house to sing their choral parts.

I'm not trying to completely take a crap on this release or anything (as much as it sounds like it!!), I'm just trying to figure out the logic here. With the wealth of titles coming out, it just seems...I don't know, strange and unusual to re-buy so instantly.

I'm giving my Supercollector set to a friend.

I know. LLL has my undying support. I only buy what I music I actually want, but I usually order right from their site. They are amazing.

Believe me when I say this, this project was a dream come true and now I personally feel my film score circle is complete. In June of 1989 is when I fell in love with Film Scores and now in July of 2010 I had the opportunity to produce the very score which brought me here today.

Nothing after this release will have the same deep meaning as this score, but they will be great nonetheless!

That is truly cool to know. Good for you, MV. What an amazing feeling it must be.

On Windows Media Player, I have 8 Batman titles( Batman 89, Returns, Begins, Gotham Knight, Mask of Phantasm [LLL], Animated Series, Brave and Bold: Music Meister, and The Movie [LLL]). I look forward to replacing the '89 version with La La Land and getting Under the Red Hood. And then I wait for LLL's eventual announcement of Batman Returns, Batman & Robin, More BTAS...

Looks Like FSM is trying to get rid of their old copies of Krull before the new one gets ordered! Only $20.

I'm not sure whether or on what thread this has been mentioned, but do we know the booth number for La La?

My friend is getting sent to the Con by her work (she works at Kid Robot) and I might have her grab one or two of these for me. But it's her first time at the show and I have a hunch "look for La La Land" won't be precise enough for her...

Same here. The Nolan Batmans aren't anywhere near as good as the Burtons. I couldn't believe people took to them like they did.

I watched Batman and Batman Returns when I was a kid, and I never got into them like some of you did. I've grown to like the former, but the second one I just can't get into because it's a Tim Burton film first and Batman movie in distant second. The first four Batman films were all style, no substance. (The animated series was an entirely different story, though.)

Say what you want about the Nolan era, but I felt it captured the essence of Batman better. I'm still pining for a better musical score, since Zimmer's work was underwhelming. Someone suggested that Elliot Goldenthal's sensibilities would fit in with Nolan's Bat-verse better than his Schumacher entries -- and I wholly agree.

MV said it not once, but twice, in the very first post of this thread: Booth #429

I believe MV Gerhard touched on this. The tracks on disc 1 are denoted with an asterix because they are previously unreleased and to seperate them from their counterpart tracks on disc 2 which were previously released.

What will be interesting to find out is whether or not Shawn Murphy remixed the entire score at the time and not just the album, or was just the album tracks themselves.

Plus we have 10 foot tall banners of Batman, Predators and a collage of cds that will be up at the table as well.
