Well, since everybody's clueless, here's the answer. Herman Stein ghost-wrote some of the music for the Boris Karloff-narrated TV classic HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS. Stein's friend Eugene Poddany was hired to composed the score, but he needed Herman's help on the assignment.

Wow! I truly did not know that, nor did I have a clue. Thanks for the info, but it's too bad for the giveaway frown . However, I already knew which MMM CD I wanted and I'll be picking it up anyway, so something good came of this for you Mr. Schecter: a sale. smile

Listen to the music when the Grinch is returning the presents to the townsfolk (I believe that's one of the sequences). Pure Stein!

Long before Elvira: Mistress of the Dark there was Monster Movie Matinee.
Monster Movie Matinee aired Saturdays at 1:00 a.m. on WSTM-TV and WSYR TV Syracuse New York from 1964 through 1980.
I always like the opening theme but have no idea who composed it.
Would anyone out there know who it was?
