Assuming I haven't totally misinterpreted this thread, then my guess is that it's RACING WITH THE MOON paired with HEAVEN CAN WAIT (both Grusin, both Paramount).

Well, if such a CD pairing could be then I would be dancing a jig because they are two of my favorite Dave Grusin scores ever and they've been a LONG time coming.

Racing With The Moon has been a long time gimme gimme.... wow... The true joy for me was Heaven Can Wait - short though it may be, it's just a gorgeous and wonderful score and the bonus tracks give you more of it than made the film. But Racing With the Moon is so beautiful - a stunning theme and classic Grusin sound. But in addition to the amazing score tracks you get the four or five big band source cues, which are all arranged and conducted by Billy May - fantastic. And the sound is truly incredible - Heaven Can Wait newly mixed by us (John Adams) from the sixteen-track session masters, and Racing With the Moon from amazing-sounding two-track mixes done by Grusin. Yummy.

You've just made my week. I remember watching "Racing With The Moon" in cinemas and admiring the Grusin score, which remained hidden until now. And "Heaven Can Wait" is a genuine classic. I'm hovering over the keyboard to order this. I'll be interested to see the cover art for this two-fer. The cover art is just about my favorite we've done this year.

I don't mean to take away from the excitement over HEAVEN CAN WAIT / RACING WITH THE MOON,but we still have the golden age titles to guess. We know that it is one CD with two titles.Leigh Harline is one of the composers. My question to Bruce is: is this an early 50's score from 20CF ? Yes, it's "Monkey Business" paired with "Don't Bother To Knock"

I am sorry, but, what is the title of this thread? "NEW KRITZERLAND: ALIEN NATION! SOBEL/GOLDSMITH!" Oh that is right, it was suppose to be a discussion about he Alien Nation CD release. When did the thread derail into a completely UNRELATED topic. That is what the "New Topic" Button is for at the bottom of the page.

Bruce ALWAYS holds a guessing game for the next title, in the thread of the previous one. It's a tradition. One which, by the way, the board MOD and Lukas haven't complained about obviously.

The Grusin looks like a fine cd. Is the Harline from the 1950s? Is the other composer Alex North? The Harline is from the 1950s

Have you heard it? What do you think?

Heaven Can Wait is an exciting release, so many years in the waiting! Thanks Bruce and Kritzerland. The movie itself was great, especially Dyan Cannon's wonderful performance. I remember the theme being on one of the Mancini's LP's at the time, which was better than nothing since the soundtrack was never released (until now). Thanks again Kritzerland for this and all past and future score releases!
