Received my Victor Young CD. Very enjoyable with marvelous music throughout. The sound for the "Appointment With Danger" is particularly good. Well worth the wait. September Affair and The Accused are quality scores too. A superb collection of great Victor Young music! Only isolated disappointment is the relatively poor sound for the Prelude (and to a lesser extent the End Title) of "The Accused". Fortunately, the score's other tracks sound very good, but as the Prelude is the main orchestral presentation of the theme, it's a pity it has suffered in comparison to the rest. So for my listening, I've decided to prune the Prelude and program proceedings to start with Track 19 which is a nice cocktail lounge arrangement of the theme. A tracklist question: Track 7: Lonely Am I (Lilley) / Slow Bus to Memphis Is that Joseph J. Lilley of White Christmas? I can't find anything on Google crediting him with a tune of that title. I noticed that about THE ACCUSED as well. I wonder if, possibly, the original music session masters no longer existed for these two cues and Mr. Bruce has lifted them from something close to an optical film print soundtrack to add completeness to the score. Incidentally, Mr. Young must have felt his major theme for THE ACCUSED was pretty good, because he re-recorded it for one of his compilation LPs in the 1950s. It was so familiar when I heard it again on this Victor Young Kritzerland CD. We have what we have - sometimes one knows where what we have came from and sometimes it's just a big soup with a lot of music from a lot of different sources in varying sound quality.

This VICTOR YOUNG SOUP has a lot of meat in it and is very nourishing!!! Thanks for bringing it to a boil for us, Chef Kimmel!!
