Personally, I won't be looking for a replacement for the typo. If it did bother me I'd just have the other spine showing.

Received my CD on Thursday and I was really enjoying listening to it until......... I spotted that horrendous typo on the spine.

I just haven't been able to sleep since.

I was thinking maybe some sort of support group needs to be set up to cope with such trauma?

Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

I will be sending SAE a pre-stamped mailer already addressed to me so when they do get them in, they put mine in it and put it in their out going mail. That way it is nearly NO hassle at all for them.

SAE let us know when they are printed, thanks!

Having gotten both unmentionables because I love the score so, I was amazed upon listening to the gorgeous FSM release that there is so much music I'd never heard before. And music on the earlier releases not on this new one. Has anyone else noticed this? What could be the reason?

Could you have had the boot with "In Country" on it? I compared our release to the boot and realized not only did we have more music, but it was assembled properly and at the correct speed. I also couldn't find anything on the boot that was not on our album.

I see no need to pussyfoot around that topic as far as "Testament" is concerned. There was a junky knock off out there that has been rendered completely obsolete by our awesome sounding new edition. Mike Matessino has taught me the value of comparing what we'll be releasing with what's out there, whether legitimate or otherwise, and I did just that with "Testament". If someone's hearing music not on our release, then it's not "Testament" music.

Terrific release: the sound is cristal clear !

The spine typo: it is a typo. We even know how it happened: someone hit "save"
and missed the apple key so only an "s" was added!

We are reprinting the tray card. We have a bit of a problem in distributing the
replacement tray card because trays, unlike booklets, can't just be tossed into
an order...they have to be put in a jewel box and it's a real hassle. So the guys at
SAE have been dreading this and I've tried to help them by giving them a little
bit of breathing room. Any suggestions from you guys?

Lukas

What to do as I ordered my copy through Intrada ? Thx !

Is this a joke?? Have we really arrived at this point?? Have our lives become so meaningless that we need a reprinting of some back inlay/spine cards because somebody accidently added the letter S to (one?) side of the spine? Lord Help Us!!!
This is winging it's way from SAE as I type (with Broughton's STAY TUNED) and if I get a copy WITHOUT the typo, I'm gonna be pissed off!! wink
I want all that beautiful Horner music to slide out of my speakers, while reading the booklet, looking at the stills and handling the packaging in all it's extra 'S' glory!!!
C'mon guys, tell me you're messin'. Do we really need FSM to pony up some extra expense just to remove some S from your spine (sounds painful).
My answer...LET 'EM RIDE!

To paraphrase a certain James T. K. "I want my mistakes! I want my imperfections! I want my pain goddammit!!" smile

Totally agree. I have a copy on the way from Intrada and I could care less if there's a minor typo on one side of the spine! It's just not worth having FSM pay the extra postage to correct an extremely minor issue (especially since it sounds like this was a pricey release to begin with)! Don't like the extra S? Display the other spine on your shelf!

Chris.

The typo shouldn't have happened, but it did. Does that mean I need to have a new tray card? No. I also have the Kindgdom of Heaven soundtrack. I don't mind. I more annoyed at typos like on The Dark Crystal soundtrack where track 7 is called "The Skeksis Funeral" instead of "The Skeksis Duel", but that's also not a big deal.

It's interesting that so many seem not to care about the typo, but you can understand why LK/FSM would address the issue. If they hadn't, I wonder how many would have cared then, eh? How many complaints would have been received? Probably more than we think. It's just good business and good customer service to make the fix available to those who do care, and doing it in such a way that causes the least expense and trouble will benefit all involved.

Obviously, it's good business.

Part of the "it doesn't really matter" reaction is probably due to the fact that to many, it doesn't matter, as well as the fact that Lukas wants to solve it. Gratitude for the product, honesty and good business, as well as an acknowledgement as to how minor the issue is. smile

Whatever happens, I'm very happy with the CD, and it's packaging. In fact, I've been very happy with every FSM CD I have purchased, including Star Trek II (Holy Grail), Star Trek III (Holy Grail), Twilight Zone: The Movie (Fantastic and rare), Patton (Incredible) and Poltergeist (Fantastic upgrade).

As Lukas is offering a replacement tray card, I don't think that it's so unfogettable to ask for it as it's already printed...

Indeed. I applaud and thank FSM for doing this, superb customer service!

Oh, of course. I was being facetious more than anything, really. It's fantastic to have a legitimate release at last.

I agree completely, if they are already going to print them, then I'll grab one, if they weren't, then I would have been fine.

Yes, I saw this right away, too, but couldn't care less. If they want to be obsessive with these details, that's fine by me--they're all the better for it. If they had chosen not to do it, I'd still be happy. It's a solid package by FSM.

Well, I've managed to scrape together the cash to put an order in for 'Testament' today. I wonder if will come with the typo insert still in place and have the replacement insert as an extra, or have the insert already replaced... wink
