I miss Chris Kinsinger.

Me too. He inspired me (all of us!) to good-natured lunacy and I've been in a bad mood ever since he departed.

Yeah, he was one of the cornerstones of the board that had been around for as long as I had. He made a brief return a couple of years ago, but then faded into oblivion again. Maybe it's the new, more "aggressive" tone that keeps him away? Or the fact that the topics have changed considerably (such as the ubiquity of speculation threads) since he left? There are some of the "oldtimers" that have died (McKone, Rocco, Scofield), some have moved to other fora for good (like Marian Schedenig), some don't participate as much as I wish they should (Swashbuckler, Wedge, Howard L) while some, like Chris, have simply withdrawn altogether. I miss all of them.

Speaking of Amway, the latest episode of the always terrific Skeptics Guide to the Universe has a nice interview with a Ponzi scheme expert, and one of the examples he rails upon is Amway.

The podcasts can be fun but the message board is usually full of people with their heads ALLLLL the way up their ass wink

I've had the good sense to avoid the Skeptic's Guide message boards. It just intuitively feels like a place that should be avoided.

But I do love the podcast.

I love that a few of you have actually re-read this thread and have given it a little new life.

Why do I know the name Chris Kinsinger? Did he write reviews in Film Score Monthly or Soundtrack?

Man I really miss those days on the boards! There were some real characters around back then.

Still, there are few here and there that still post and some new posters that are pretty interesting.

I too miss some of the characters in this thread. "Characters welcome." Chris used to post all the time. Then he left for several years. He came back a few months ago and asked if any of the old timers were still around. A lot of us raised our hands and yelled "yep!" And then he left again. Chris, get back here.

No, I don't think so. As I said, he was one of the regular members here from 1998 to about 2003 or so, and also one of the best-liked.

Quick, turn on Fox Movie Channel right now. They're showing that TV remake of South Pukecific with your favorite starlet!

For a brief moment, I was staggered at the thought you were making that comment for me.

Then I saw John Maher's post...and a wry grin worked its way onto my face!

Oh yeah he can't stand Glenn Close.
By the way, that photo attached to your sign-in: if that's you you look like Fritz Wepper in Cabaret.

That would have been about right for when the photo was taken.

When these posts get bumped, we have no control over where they go. I don't remember if this one was started under General or Non-Film Music.

Harmless fun it is, though.

And given the number of Blue Box threads, prevetmw is totally correct!
