(ASCAP). Used with permission. All Rights Reserved. Can someone please help me out and explain what the differences are between this release and the soundtrack expansion by Arista Records on their 1998 CD? I was under the impression that presentation was approved by John Williams and featured the score as he would like to have seen a lengthier release. I have to confess, I still have a soft spot for the old LP assembly of the score. Very good representation. Thanks, Stan

Plowing into a track list is a slog worth taking in these days of ultra-high-end score album re-masters. The more I study this one, the more enthused I get. It's going to be a nice Christmas between the speakers (or the ear-stoppers).

Thanks, Stan There is about 90 sec more of the score presentation, and then the disc of alternates. The previous MCA expansions of E.T. and CE3K are within 2 min of being complete.

Yes, Disc 2 is a kind of alternate suite. I expect “Advance Scout Greeting” will be especially good.

Yes, Disc 2 is a kind of alternate suite. I expect “Advance Scout Greeting” will be especially good. I've been particularly waiting for this cue. I love it when the UFO's dance to the 5 notes. I remember way back when the movie came out and when the UFOs responded to the tones, I just got the biggest grin on my face.... what an incredible moment!

ORDERED! (I haven't gotten to say that for a while now.) Thank you so much for using the original poster art. It's simple, mysterious, and even a little frightening.

ORDERED! (I haven't gotten to say that for a while now.) Thank you so much for using the original poster art. It's simple, mysterious, and even a little frightening. Look closely -- it's actually not the original poster art. I found the actual original road photograph in the Sony archives, the one used at the basis for the poster, and had it scanned. Jim Titus used it to make a brand new clean update of the key art with his own light and night sky. Mike M.
