My want (hope) list:

Obsession - Herrmann (self explanatory);

Psycho III - Burwell (a composer who is shockingly under represented in my collection);

Tourist Trap - Donaggio (a perenial want on my part);

Shot in the Dark, A - Mancini;

Power, The - Christopher Young (an early Young Masterpiece);

Encore Series - Ghost Story (Sarde), Suspect (Kamen), Where the River Runs Black (Horner);

Expanded re-releases: Anything Goldsmith including The Raggedy Man, but excepting Mr. Baseball smile.

And more television Herrmann please.

But even if it were none of those, I still expect the Club releases will be awesome.

Edit: And Daughters of Darkness by François de Roubaix.

Hear, hear!

I would love any unreleased Conti, but I don't think it will happen. I would also like to stay up for it, but I have to be at work early the next day so I can't. You guys have to do this one without me. But I hope you guys have a good time and are pleased with the releases.smile

All we need is Adrian Messenger, Psycho II, and Obsession.

There have been some references elsewhere to a "Hurricane" or "storm" coming from from Varese. I don't know if that is just a "no hidden meaning" bit of hyperbole about the deluge of great titles coming or if it had some hint in it.

Any ideas? Herrmann's CAPE FEAR has a hurricane connection. Maybe Rota's HURRICANE although I don't see that as a blockbuster title. It's nice and I would buy it, but it's not one of Rota's best.

The sound of the "Peggy Sue got maried" CD is so terrible that a new remastered (and expanded) edition would be more than welcome.

A remastered Williams' Dracula is long overdue. The Eiger Sanction and Jaws 2 would also be appreciated.

I told you guys a storm was coming. Hurricane Varese is gonna blow you away. smile

MV

I have solved MV's Varese clue that he posted yesterday in the OK Corral thread. All is revealed in this passage from the Bible:

"And lo, the winds blew and a mighty STORM came upon the sea, and parted the waters for the children of Israel to pass through on land. And the Egyptians, seeing the hand of the lord create a path for Moses and his brethren, did charge their chariots in pursuit. And Moses was angered and cried out "I shall BLOW YOU AWAY, you f*****s" and he called upon the lord to abate the HURRICANE-force winds so that the waters would collapse with calamitous power upon Pharaoh's army and drown all".

Simple.

All three of these are MCA LPs that Varèse merely reissued on CD. They do not fall into the category of scores Varèse owns in perpetuity.

Others may disagree but I think it might be a challenge to unload copies of Cape Fear given how comprehensive the remake release was and the fact that it's not one of Herrmann's must-haves.

CAPE FEAR would be a must-have for me, along with:

OBSESSION
MARNIE
ENDLESS NIGHT
COMPANIONS IN NIGHTMARE

I'd love a HERRMANN AT UNIVERSAL box, but PSYCHO probably isn't possible

A much-expanded "Rich Man, Poor Man" from Alex North would be very nice.
If they've made room for a western in this batch, "Soldier Blue" and "Mackenna's Gold" are still on my wanted list.

YESSSSSSSSS!!! A THOUSAND TIMES YES!

Also... is there any hope of seeing GREMLINS 2 THE NEW BATCH: DELUXE EDITION?

That would make my day!

Heck, while I'm at it an expanded THE DARK HALF from Christopher Young would be awesome as well!

I just hope this long belated batch of CD releases makes me sit forward in awe...
Instead of causing either,
a sigh of relief
or
a confused state of disbelief punctuated by the acronym WTF!! wink

Double Indemnity (Rozsa)

I'm hoping that a "hurricane" is more than just 4 titles. That's more of a "normal breeze" to me.
