This is interesting. Usually when I’m excited about an expanded release I know (as much as one can from the film) every note that I’ve been “missing”. With Red October I just know that I loved the film and the CD for 23 years (!!!) and I want more. So I don’t really know what I’m looking forward to.
Wow, I remember when the movie came out in March and we had to wait until sometime in May (June?) for the soundtrack. THOSE were the days, right?

Can't wait to hear the clips. Yes I believe the MCA sdtk came out in June 1990. I remember going to a Sam Goody store and purchased the Red October tape along w/Red Heat.
Red October has detailed notes about the film's production and the development of the score, including vintage quotes from Poledouris as well as material from recent interviews with music mixer Tim Boyle and Poledouris' agent, Richard Kraft.
