Though the deadline has since passed, I found out today that I'll probably be in Manhattan on business during the time of the get-together. I won't know more details for a little while, but I might be able to - at the very least - stop by the goings-on and say "hello," that way no one has to adjust numbers for the table or anything like that. Sure, give it a shot! For any other latecomers, there shouldn't be a problem in stopping by, but we can't guarantee a place at the table at this point (unless some of the 12 Angry Men above cancel). After visiting the place over the weekend, I can assure you that there should not be a problem is a few more did join us. As long as Thor and I don't get stuck with the bill

Hey Thor, I just got into NYC. Where are you at?

I'm covered so I can leave town in the afternoon. All seems OK for me to come. But I'm a bit nervous about bringing anything valuable in a soaking rain. I'd rather it were a nice sunny day. We'll see how it is. 4th Corollary to Murphy's Law: If things appear to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something. Hopefully I'll see you all tomorrow at the pseudo-Oktoberfest Beer Garden that Thor picked out. Ron Burbella

By the time of the event, it will be Thursday somewhere in the world.

Alas, my work down in the City was postponed by two weeks, so I won't be popping in to say hello to all of you hepcats. Have a marvelous time everyone, and be sure to post plenty of anecdotes and photographic evidence of the event!

Sorry to hear that you won't make it, jkannry. No worries, another time. I'm fairly confident more people will cancel or fail to show up. That's my experience in hosting such things. But that's ok. People have lives! Ill be there between 6:30-7!

One of the best moments of the night was when Ron pulled out his acetate set of Max Steiner's King Kong, and a hush spread across the table as everybody realized what it was that we were looking at. This was truly a unique and enjoyable night for me, and I thank everyone for coming. I can't believe I had some of the conversations that I had tonight. You guys are the best.
