Just to clarify... this release doesn't contain all the music used in the movie? I read that the short cue that plays when the ghoul approaches Barbara in the cemetery couldn't be found, but is that the only cue missing? Either way, I'm very excited to receive this! I've had it pre-ordered since early April and it will definitely be worth the wait! Thanks for your enthusiasm and support for this project. THEY WON'T STAY DEAD! does not contain every piece of music used in Night of the Living Dead. Since the original audio is said to have been destroyed in a flood, any CD release is limited only to the stock library cues used in the film. Sadly, I doubt a more complete version is possible at this point, but I certainly hope to be proven wrong in that area! The CD features 41 tracks from the Capitol Hi-Q production music library, which covers every stock cue used in the film except for the aforementioned bit as the cemetery ghoul approached Barbara. In this case, the portion heard is so brief that it's difficult to pinpoint exactly which cue it was taken from. Capitol Hi-Q also hasn't been in existence for some time, so there is no archive available to cross-reference the audio. The film also features three instances of "stingers" processed through a long tape delay: when the cemetery ghoul attacks Barbara, when Barbara discovers the corpse at the top of the stairs and the final shot of the bonfire. These bits of audio would have been created by Romero and/or Hardman, and so are not included on the CD. Additionally, there is a crude synthesizer cue heard during the ghouls' feast following the truck explosion and when Ben confronts the Coopers' corpses in the cellar, as well as a processed brass/synth stinger which is heard several times as the ghouls pick up smoldering table legs and rocks for the final siege. These audio bits were created at Hardman Associates and are not included on the CD. Although we did not have access to any original audio tapes, we were able to make a new recording of the actual music box heard in the film. The music box is owned by Kyra Schon who played 'Karen Cooper' and thanks to her, its signature melody will be included on the CD. www.LivingDeadDocumentary.com

The stuff he knows about it, is quite fascinating and would make for an interesting article on FSM, if you kids want to get a hold of him. The amount of work that has been put in this is incredible. I'm also excited to hear the music box tune as well!! Good luck and I'm sure this would be a big seller.

It's coming to get you, Barbara! The CD is in the final stages of manufacturing and will be shipping in the next day or so. Amazon orders will take a few days extra since our shipment has to reach their warehouse first. Thanks to all that pre-ordered and have be waiting so patiently for this release. I can't stress enough how amazing and understanding everyone has been. After spending so much time on this project, I thought I'd never care to listen to any music from Night of the Living Dead again, but I already can't wait to see and hear the finished product. I can only imagine how excruciating the wait has been for everyone else. If you pre-ordered through Amazon and weren't able to hear the audio samples, drop me an e-mail at forensics@autopsyofthedead.com

Wow it's almost May 24th already? I wonder I'm doing for Memorial Day! You know something, Cheese Whizz... I could hint at sending your copy via slow boat so that you receive it by May 24th, 2011, but you would have actually needed to order the CD for me to do that.
