Cheers HJ, that was interesting. Scary that it took so long despite the initial stuff happening quite quickly.

I was one of those people who saw "The Stepford Wives" at the cinema.

My condolences (I saw it in the cinema as well). I'm wondering if any of Joel McNeely's additional music will be included, or if it'll be another Air Force One scenario.

That's not at all what I expected The Stepford Wives to sound like... but I like it!

I think "root canal" is overly harsh, but I am of the opinion that a little of the DENNIS THE MENACE score goes a long way. I love Jerry...he is my favorite film composer, but I'm perfectly happy with the original release. This will be the very first JG expansion I'm going to pass up. I'd pass up MR BASEBALL or MOM AND DAD SAVE THE WORLD too. Comedy Goldsmith scores just don't do it for me as a stand-alone listening experience. (Except THE 'BURBS, which is genius).
In the films, they are perfect. And I like having a representation of the score...they all have bits which are good listening. But, yeah, too much can be grating.

While it had been announced as such previously, there will NOT be autographed copies of LAIR available from our website. Mr. Debney had every intention of signing copies for us, but his schedule unexpectedly took him abroad and he was not able to sign the booklets in time for Tuesday's release. Again, to dispel any confusion -- no autographed copies of LAIR.
However, we do have a surprise announcement about a great sale going live on our site at 12noon PST tomorrow...

SPRING FEVER BLOWOUT! We've got the fever bad in La-La Land and we're spreading the love to our customers with an unbeatable 20% OFF SALE! That's right, we'll take 20% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER! Simply place your online order and 20% of your total price will be automatically deducted at checkout. (NOTE: This offer applies only to titles currently in stock). Sale starts 4/8 at 12noon (PST) and runs through 4/21 (11:59pm PST).
Only at www.lalalandrecords.com

We hope you take advantage of this great sale event. It's a perfect opportunity to pick up Debney's amazing LAIR release, along with any in-stock items from our catalog you've been thinking about!

I'm SUPER EXCITED about this and totally going to get it, but... is LAIR out of chronological order? :/
Can't wait to hear the "Concert Suite"!

Looking forward to picking up the new Elfman - and for a reduced price, to boot! I may pick up the Texas Chainsaw Massacre album that is going out of print, too - not sure what I'll do with the $0.40 that I save on that one, but maybe my spouse and I will get take-out to celebrate. smile I may go hog-wild on more (like I did last time they had a site-wide sale) - but that's dependent on when my income tax refund comes in.

Yep, the album order has apparently been re-arranged to fit more to Debney's original wishes.

From Dan Goldwasser's notes on the album production:

March 11, 2013

Picked up the materials that Debney had sent over to La-La Land. This included an already-mastered disc (which was the previously released 2007album) . . . Interesting to note that there was pen notation on the back track list indicating an alternate (preferred) album sequence, which is not what came out in 2007...

March 13, 2013
... Using the original concept album assembly (which is different than the 2007 digital release) as a basis, I worked to put together the album. I combined a few cues to create lengthier tracks that flowed together nicely, and sequenced it for an enjoyable listening experience.

I'm SUPER EXCITED about this and totally going to get it, but... is LAIR out of chronological order?

Having played this game more than once, ripped all the music from the game and compiled my own "soundtrack", I feel complete chronological order isn't important with only a few exceptions where some cues are obvious sequels to previous cues. For example "Dead Man's Basin Intro" has to be before the "Dead Man's Basin Battle" otherwise musically it wouldn't make sense, but other than similar examples it's easy to rearrange many of the tracks to have more symphonic experience appropriate for an album release.
