FROM SAE, read this:
"Twilight Time's September and October Blu-Ray release schedule: THE KILLER ELITE (1975) with NOON WINE (1966)."

Will the usual 3000 units for a Peckinpah world premire be enough!?

I only require one copy of each; so, yes. wink

On a meta Killer Elite-related note--you guys get too serious about this stuff and need lightening up-- I suggested to a friend of mine, who is an occupational therapist, that he display this Killer Elite poster on the wall behind his office desk, showing all his patients that they too can recover from the most debilitating injuries.

The deadline for the BD of The Killer Elite/Noon Wine is September 9.
Be on the lookout in August for the pre-order!

¶ George Hansen: "Well we're all idealists. Y'think we do it for the money?"

Thanks for that, Justin. That interview is absolutely brimming with great quotes and viewpoints. It's also quite poignant, knowing that Fielding was still looking forward to pushing himself to the top of his abilities, and yet his untimely death was only a year away.

"The sicker portions are done with a unique device which is worthy of mention because there are some instruments that are sliding around in a very high register, and there are no instruments that do that. And the way we got that sound was to use three trombone players on three different lines, playing at half-speed; we then double-speeded it, closed it up an octave, and then we overdubbed that on top. It is a marvelous device. I first used it back in ADVISE AND CONSENT. It is a difficult thing to do."
—Jerry Fielding about the laughing trombones effect.

Just ordered the Warner Bros edition of The Outfit to double-check.

¶ Good news, the DVD features 30 chapters and a superb widescreen.
Unlike the assertion of the Amazon reviewer, the DVD do have chapters.
What a relief!
I'm experiencing the film once more.

¶ This is the end of July and no trace of a Fielding title yet.
Perhaps, they will spread 'some' in the market for fall 2014?
Let's wait until October from now.

¶ Let's enjoy a buggy ride with Jerry Fielding!

And don't forget the hint by MV regarding LLL's 2014 releases, Feb 6, 2014:

"is Fielding part of ???

-As a matter of fact -- YES"

And Intrada? They released two Fieldings in 2013:
http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/daily/article.cfm/articleID/7015/CD-Checklist-2013/
and in 2014: ??

¶ I think now the good stuff will surface in fall 2014: circa october/december.
If we're lucky, we can expect 4 titles by Fielding.
2 quartet+1 LLL+1 Intrada.
Less than two months. You can restart the countdown towards good music.

¶ I'm still listening to my old Fielding CD soundtracks.
2014 was my return to "The Outfit".

¶ "The good guys always win."
—Cody to Macklin at the end of "The Outfit".

Attention, attention, SAE offers the pre-order for the BD of The Killer Elite/Noon Wine.

http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm/ID/27855/THE-KILLER-ELITE-1975-NOON-WINE-1966/

THE KILLER ELITE (1975) / NOON WINE (1966) (PRE-ORDER) (BLU-RAY)

Renegade director Sam Peckinpah’s The Killer Elite (1975) offers a gorgeously San Francisco-based excursion into the dark world of contract assassins, the CIA, martial arts, and ever more obscure notions of honor among hit men, with James Caan and Robert Duvall the leading exemplars thereof. Shot by the terrific Philip Lathrop, co-edited by the exemplary Monte Hellman, and with music by sine qua non composer Jerry Fielding (his last, hugely poignant score with long-time partner Peckinpah is available on this Twilight Time release as an isolated track), this is an echt-1970s film, crammed with anger, betrayal, and the occasional soupçon of heart-wrenching poetry.

ALSO INCLUDING:

Noon Wine (1966), the Sam Peckinpah-directed television version of Katherine Anne Porter’s novella, starring Jason Robards, Olivia de Havilland, and Theodore Bikel, available here for the first time on home video.

I wonder if this means NOON WINE is the new, premiere release of a Fielding coming soon from Quartet (or was it Music Box...I always mix them two up)?

¶ Nobody knows for sure.
I think the answer lies in fall this year.
As I said, we 'may' have 4 scores by Fielding but what exactly?

¶ Let's wait and see and enjoy this Blu-ray for now.

¶ As a reminder, Noon Wine is a 'key' release to understand the collaboration between Fielding and Peckinpah. I wonder how is the music by Fielding, which devises will we spot?

Although this is a film music board I think this is the most important release of 2014.

You will note that the Blu Ray doesn't offer an isolated score for Noon Wine, yet it does for Killer Elite. I think this answers your question. If the tapes were available, they would have included it, knowing Nick Redman as I do and his relationship with Camille Fielding as well. I highly doubt the music elements exist in any useful form, unfortunately.

There are no recordings for Noon Wine but the scores are there. It could be re-recorded.

Another Peckinpah-Fielding collaboration is there, the recordings for Junior Bonner. Also the cue titles can be seen in the list.
