Reading Doug's post I don't think he said that there were neccessarily Disney titles coming up by those composers.

What part of "... well, you get the idea. Hang in there" or "Just hang on... you'll be happy" suggests that?

No one is claiming that these will be out by Christmas, but Doug's resolve is clearly there. His message is simply "Be patient!."

Ron Grainer to me suggests "The Moon-Spinners" (along with another memorable Terry Gylkison song.)

Paul Smith to me suggests "True-Life Adventures" (since the LP representations of the scores have no doubt been preserved and are readily available: "Secrets of Life" was available from Disney on an on-demand CD-R as recently as a few years ago; Randy Thornton and his team would have preserved it.)

Johnny Mandel to me suggests "Escape to Witch Mountain."

Doug mentions William Alwyn as well, and that suggests "Swiss Family Robinson," but that may take some research and time.

I haven't seen many of these movies, and the one's I have seen, it's been a while. But reading this post has got me excited to discover some of these "classics".

Is there a list anywhere of all Disney films, composers, whether a score was released - Vinyl/Tape/CD ?

While we're on the subject, I'd love some CD releases of the tracks from the SILLY SYMPHONIES, many of which were musical mini-masterpieces. (In particular, Leigh Harline's contribution to THE OLD MILL -1937-, among others.)

Doug, on the Intrada message boards:

Yes, a terrific flow of releases is now on the table with Disney and us, but please keep in mind those vaults (which include Disney, Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures and so forth) are pretty deep and have literally thousands of rolls of tape to yield. Searches are underway, elements are being restored, legal terms and artist estate requirements are being scrutinized, dozens of projects are being developed as I write... but it will take time to even begin hitting everyone's personal favorites. And we plan on tackling more of our own favorites as well. We have no plans to end with our beloved Goldsmith's, Horner's, Barry's, Steiner's, Zimmer's, Bernstein's, Jarre's, McNeely's and whatnot. Our ongoing list of names ranges from Oliver Wallace to Ron Goodwin, from Paul J. Smith to Bruce Broughton, from George Bruns to Johnny Mandel, from... well, you get the idea. Hang in there.

So there you go - upcoming titles from the following composers

Jerry Goldsmith
James Horner
John Barry
Max Steiner
Hans Zimmer
Elmer Bernstein
Maurice Jarre
Joel McNeely
Oliver Wallace
Ron Goodwin
Paul J Smith
Bruce Broughton

What Disney titles by these composers do YOU hope they are working on?

Escape to Witch Mountain the original release I may just pass out from excitement.

I think Mandel did that, sure hope that's one of them!

I watched ETWM just this morning...it was on HDNET Movies, and I just happened to catch it right at the beginning. It was the first time I'd seen it since I was a kid. I had forgotten how pretty that score is...I'd join you in your excitement.

The depth of Intrada's options within the Disney vault really is staggering.

I'm hoping for as much Paul J Smith as possible. And how about some Buddy Baker? The classic 30s-early 60s material is what I most anticipated from the Disney/Intrada label but so far they have focused on other things. Well, glad to hear some of that will finally get a release. Personal favorites I'd like to see include the original Parent Trap and Swiss Family Robinson. And my mom has often expressed how much she'd like Marc Shaiman's score to Disney's The Kid...she has advancing MS and I'm not sure how much time she has left so it would be nice to be able to give that to her soon! Thanks in advance, Intrada and Disney!

I'm copy/pasting my wish list (with the exception of The Black Hole smile from this thread:
And I can only hope that Intrada has this holy grail of mine up their Buena Vista sleeve:

I could not believe that no-one with the rights to the Rankin Bass Hobbit / Return of the King took advantage of the Jackson movies over the years.

Heck, at this point I just want a Hobbit DVD with all of the sound FX.

Someone needs to explain the difference between plurals and possessives to that guy at Intrada.

I'd second the request for Dr. Syn, and add such other scores as Davy Crockett, Swamp Fox, etc.

We have no plans to end with our beloved Goldsmith's, Horner's, Barry's, Steiner's, Zimmer's, Bernstein's, Jarre's, McNeely's and whatnot.

I guess I should point out that the list above is not necessarily a list of Disney Composers, although some did work on scores for various Disney properties.
