Why? Because his opinion and yours differ? Great interpretation of the first amendment.
It's disgusting how the suits concentrate everything on Zimmer because they don't know anything about movies OR music OR music for movies. They're probably right though, box-office-wise, because Zimmer's "music" always goes down well with the uneducated, who are the target audience for this kind of "entertainment". People who are worried whether the costumes of their superheroes exactly match those of the comic strips they're still reading when they're 42. Why carp about something as trivial as a music score?

I wish Hollywood would give some other composers a crack at scoring a comic book film. Just as I wasn't too fond of Elfman scoring every comic book movie up to the mid 2000s, it would be nice for someone like Chris Lennertz or Talghorn or Rombi or someone other than Hans or RDP. I like his sound more and more these days and really liked most of what he did on TDK franchise (excluding action tracks) and a good portion of MOS but gee, they should let some of their kids into the proverbial sandbox to play. Too much of anything isn't good (unless its John Williams).
Actually I would be interested if Powell scored the new Spider-Man. Hey Desplat might be cool too. Not that we are going toget that but it's nice to wish once in a while.

Because Zimmer is perhaps the one that publics assume as the most famous composer out there, not to mention his over exaggeration over his creation that turns out to be just blatantly generic?
I loved Zimmer that soars in the early '00, but, the heck is wrong with this guy beginning in early '10, that's sure a decade of something.
His man of steel, although, honestly, fits the film well (just because the film is kinda suck), is not that much of a higly inventive score that Zimmer always forced us to believe, i mean come on, a drum circle orchestra?
And now to Spider man? Well, i really not liking the Horner's attempt (Elfman's is way better), and also not liking the movie itself, just boring. But to add Zimmer? And what's with Marvel always kinda happy to pick different composer for continous franchise?
Now i just have one thing to recommend: pick JOHN POWELL !!! hahahaha

Well this is kind of how I felt when Elfman got tapped for Raimi’s first one.
I’m not joining the Zimmer haters but I am definitely getting Zimmered out. (But I’d take a Jackman or Powell score in a heartbeat.)
Did Horner not want to do 2 or was he not asked back? I liked his first one a lot.
