Glad I never bought the re-recordings. Bring on the originals! Looking forward to Destroyer too.
I'm not sure if that's something to be glad about. Seriously: Give it an ear (or two). Tadlow did a remarkable job.
I'm very, very glad I brought the re-recordings. Yes the original is an amazing piece of work, but the re-recording shows what Poledouris originally wrote and wanted and is a stunning recording without all the errors and compromises that ended up on the original score.
I love this score and would not want to be without either version.
Is very happy for everyone who really wanted this release. I know what it feels like to finally have a holy grail be released. I will order this myself this afternoon after work. Congrats to all who worked on this and to all those that ordered this! Isnt this great?
I've never seen Conan before, but for a long time I've heard about how great its score was.
Rather than listen to samples and trying to find a good track on YouTube, would anyone be willing to give me a good list of tracks that represents the score pretty well so I may take a listen and think about it?
I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to see the movie, but I want to hear what all the hubbub for this is about ;-)
Thats a difficult question, though only by virtue of the array before us. Conan The Barbarian is a score where almost every note is a brilliantly measured master-stroke in a magnum opus. But were I to choose, I would recommend the following chronology (in order):
Anvil Of Crom Riddle Of Steel/Riders Of Doom Gift Of Fury
Even just the first two tracks there should sufficiently immerse you. Medieval and noble.

Thank you, Warlok! I do enjoy what I hear. Next time I have a few CD's to order, I'll include this one as well
I like the Tadlow release but it's not the film recording - that has a special sort of magic contained within that the re-recording was unable to capture, at least for me. I will therefore be purchasing this with haste.
