I feel like I had to trick the website into letting me order; I wanted to order three discs; Star Trek, Warning Shot and Jane Eyrehead, and I could get the page for each one up individually, but never all at once. I finally managed to get all three into my shopping cart, but it was smooth sailing thereafter. I envy those who were able to make the screening last night. Not only did they get to experience the event, but they have the music already. Very jealous.

He he he...this is like a film music geek's version of the out-of-control Facebook IPO Frenzy. But unlike Facebook and Nasdaq, we can TRUST La La Land! I just got my order in, and I gotta tell you folks, isn't it fun that we have our own little culture and something like this - meaningless to the public at large, is bringing US so much excitement, fun, happiness and satisfaction? Anyone "outside" this very niche community couldn't begin to understand why this is a big deal. And even within this community, those of us who were actually around in '79, as the theater darkened and we experienced this score for the first time (frankly, I unapologetically love the movie, too)...well, it's a moment we've awaited for so many years. I recall leaving the cinema and going straight to the record store (this is identical to my "1941" and "Black Hole" stories from the same month and year!) - racing home with my new LP with the gorgeous Peake art on the cover. And on the one hand thrilling to the music as presented, but on the other saying "but where's THIS scene...where's THAT scene..." Hah! How many times have we been through that. For me, starting around the time of the first "Jaws" LP. As with most of these expanded releases, I cherish the original presentation, but I adore that we can also wallow in every note, if we choose. Have a wonderful time everyone! It's like a holiday today, isn't it!?!
