Is Tora! Tora! Tora! a straight reissue of the FSM CD? If yes, then I don't need it, but the other 3 are fantastic and a 100% buy... never thought "Fat Man" by Morricone would ever see the light of day :-)

Definitely want Die Hard (awesome that LLL licenced the Beethoven and John Scott music) and Scrooged. Tora Tora Tora I already own the FSM release of, and seeing how it's a half-hour score, I don't see any reason to buy again (although glad it's out again for those who missed it the first time). Fat Man & Little Boy I've never even heard of.

Mark, nothing personal, but art direction is really not your forte. Sorry.

Hmmmm... sometimes saying "nothing personal" fails to make something personal into nothing personal.

Well put. That art direction remark is the definition of douchebaggery IMO.

Obviously not from the LaLa discs but here's a taster of Ennio's 'Fat Man and Little Boy:

Ok, now I'm sold! Just beautiful. Will also order Elfman, pass on the Goldsmith (the FSM CD sounds fine to me) and will wait for the content of Die Hard (I own the Varese).

Wow!! Absolutely gorgeous!!! I saw the film, was OK but the music never caught my attention.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I am not a Morricone fan but this clip is oustanding and thus I more than likely will be buying it.

Without any enthusiasm I will order only Die Hard - I have such feeling that in a month-two (maybe sooner) this soundtrack will cost 150-200$ again...

Die Hard is the one title for me. Now all eyes are on Intrada's announcement.

It may not seem so to people now, as the other releases are from far mor popular films, but Fat Man is the winner of this group. A flawed but, to my mind, extremely underrated film. And the score as used in the picture was enough to make me want it -- damned frustrating not to have access to any of it for all this time, not even a little sample on one of Morricone's many compilations. To find out there's MORE is a thrilling surprise.

I had a feeling after Days of Heaven and Windows(!!!) that Fat Man was close, so thanks La La Land.

"Mark, nothing personal, but art direction is really not your forte. Sorry."

I am not a graphic designer by trade and thus not qualified to judge Mr. Banning's, Mr. Titus' or even Mr. Goldwasser's work against their peers and the industry. I can only say that LLL like it, they employee his services, they approve it and Mr. Banning continues to be valued for his contributions. His 'forte' seems to be pretty clear and appreciated. If I was a graphic designer, there's no doubt I would have prepared examples of my work; submitted and discussed with LLL off the threads and illustrated how I could review future releases for their art direction....and save everyone on the message board from a unfortunate remark.

I have both the FSM Tora Tora Tora and the Varese Club Die Hard. I know I will be grabbing Scrooged and Fat Man and Little Boy. Haven't decided on double dipping on the first 2. Since Die Hard has more of the source music that is a possibility.

behold the power of fruitcake! yes scrooged is a pretty major holy grail off my list. no question there. be interested in seeing the track list on tora tora tora. don't think there will be much debate on getting die hard as i adore the move but for all my viewings i have to say the music has never registered with me. kamen's never quite clicked for me so this one will be a surprise, but based on the excitement i don't think i dare let this one get by.

Pass.

LOL

WONDERFUL titles, holy crap! I can't imagine there isn't at least one title here that everyone wants whether it be the classic Goldsmith or the holy grail of the Elf.

Yeah, I looked at Die Hard the other weekend (I had myself a mini action film festival) & when the film was over, apart for the song, I couldn't remember a note of the music, I love the music to the Lethal Weapon's (I suppose the guitar & sax help there). I'm obviously missing what other people are hearing, as this is a very popular score. I'm sure it will sell out.

SCROOGED is also the disc I will definately be buying.

I have always loved DIE HARD as a film, and Kamen's placing of music in it, so I will consider this one once the track listings are announced.

I have FSM's TORA TORA TORA and those who missed it are in for a treat, and I can remember seeing the film FAT & LITTLE, but the music hasn't stuck - listen to the samples and see.

This years final four certainly offer something for almost everyone.

I know what you mean. It does seem closer to 'atmosphere' music than strongly thematic or expressive music. Nevertheless, in this particular case I do find the motifs draw me in and I do plan to buy it, having missed the Varese.

Cheers

Awesome! I'm afraid I'm not much interested in Die Hard but I do hope that this by any chance leads to a proper release of the third part sometime soon.

Can't wait for Scrooged, though! smile

I knew Scrooged would be coming. Out of respect to both MV and Matt, I overheard them discussing it at the 1941 screening back in September and I was surprised that it was finally in the works (I had heard back in the early days of the Internet that the score was just too short to make a full album). To keep the suspense, I decided to not mention the information that I had, considering that I thought it wouldn't be fair to begin with. I look forward to eventually adding this album to my colection.

Surprised about the inclusion of Die Hard. Have always been impressed by the previous album and I look forward to this new 2 CD version, although due to lack of money on my part, it will probably sell out before I can actually afford it.
